What options does the club have?

Post: # 948997Post battye »

Can someone explain what action we can take?

Obviously 12 weeks is insane, what outcome can we hope for? Is there any outcome where Baker will play next week, or will he get rubbed out for a few weeks as a best case scenario?

What happens if we go to the tribunal? Can he get cleared completely or the charges downgraded, etc?

If that fails, how would court action work? Which court do we go to, how quickly can it get underway, how good are our chances?

Thanks

As much as i hate to say it and i would love to see us fight it. It may be in the best interest of the club to just accept the ban and move on.

9 weeks means we get bakes back for the finals. That is a hell of a lot better than the alternative which is the whole season gone down the gurgler for him

Another question I have is why the 50% loading on all 4 of the charges and not just on the first. Does anyone know how this part of the system works? It seems like double and triple jeopardy to me. First you get the weeks for the original offence, then get a loading added on to the next 4 offences too?

WTF?

if he had been given 1 week now and 1 week later he would still be loaded- it has been hanging for 3 years and was 2 months away from losing the 50% loading....

Right, thanks for that response.

What an amazingly stupid system this is.

Does anyone know what would happen if it did go to court? Are there any precedents?

It is indeed.

Yes, we should fight it based on FAIRNESS.

But given the monkey's have shown their CORRUPT hand yet again, all that will happen is he'll cop the full 12 weeks.

Sure, we could appeal the tribunal, and still cop 12.

Then take it to the Supreme Court, and maybe finally bend the prick over responsible for this shambles...

Whats annoying here is even if the tribunal/MRP back down - they'll save face by leaving him with say.....6???WTF

Seriously I thought at worst hed get 1 + another for his 50% and would walk away with that for his chin hit........14 weeks is just incredible and demonstrates the media has had an impact on a system whose personnel are not professional enough to administer their duties objectively.

The charges need to be totally re assesed and the MRP thrown out. I dont like our chances and AFL will allow us once again to be the "example"

Yet- in 2 weeks time you will see a tagger, scrag an opponent, throw the odd jumper punch and walk away scott free - that will all be to late for Baker. His only hope is if the club makes a stand - that wont happen either.

We all need to e-mail Michael Nettlefold. I have just sent him an e-mail at

communications@saints.com.au

You need to voice your opinion and request the Club to take action. Unless we take a proactive stand as a Club, it will be open season on our players on and off the field.
