Ratten has said the Blues will have 4 changes.

Not sure about the other clubs this weekend, but I expect more changes.

I think Boredom will get a game, along with Yawn and Impatience.

I think Excitement will be dropped in favour of Watching The Opposition.

Can't Wait for Next Week would defintely improve the side.

Maybe we should be looking to who will be playing for Sandringham this week. Will Stanley get a game, or will he be rested with the others?

The Sandy seconds are only playing so like every Saints player from last week they get the week off. A few previously injured players are playing in the seconds though.

Whatever: I'm somehow able to cope mentally with calling both games "football".

That said, I reckon GT would probably do a better job than Verbeek.

Seriously...

Dawson should be fit, and he will probably replace Clarke.

Gram could be right, but could get a run at Sandy. If he does come in, then Peake seems the likeliest to make way. Eddy & Geary certainly did enough last week to warrant selection. McQualter may also be a chance to be the one to make way, but I seem him starting to play into some form.

On the outside of chances, if Riewoldt comes back, then he's in for Stanley. While I liked Stanley's perseverance last week, he was barely sighted for three quarters.

In: Dawson, Gram
Out: Clarke (inj), Peake

B Baker Dawson Gilbert
HB Gwilt Blake S Fisher
C Dal Santo Goddard Montagna
HF Ray Stanley McQualter
F Milne Koschitzke Schneider
Foll Gardiner Hayes Jones
Int McEvoy Geary Eddy Gram
Em Peake Steven Heyne

Why should Peake be dropped? I put him as my fifth best in the votes plus a few others also gave him a vote. If you went on last week's form Baker should be out as his lack of pace was shown often. Yes, i realize he won't be dropped but if it is a dry night the Cats forwards could run rings around him. Some people on this forum seem to think Dawson should be a walk up start to come back when fit. What do they base this on? His form has been so poor this year some comments here are laughable.
Before anyone has a go at me about Baker I am only stating how slow he has become with age, not his lack of hardness at the contest which has always been his trademark.

structure structure structure....

when he is there our backline is 50% more effective! Would play on the jpod and release chips to run off and create.

Baker has been in excellent form and will take steve johnson and tear him a new one AGAIN.

If gram comes back in then the likes of eddy, geary and peake are in the gun. Once again it comes down to structure.

I don't think anyone deserves to be dropped this week. Clarke is injured, and Dawson is the next defensive cab off the rank, especially considering Geelong will probably have two genuine tall marking forwards.

Gram is a best-22 player, who always has a well earned reputation for playing well in big games.

Baker had a bad week, but whenever I count him out, he comes back better than ever. The space at Subi probably did him no favours, but his last three MCG games were pretty good.

Solar, was our back line 50% more efficient against the Dons when Dawson was there????? He gave away about 6 goals with his pathetic display that game. Make him earn his spot back through Sandringham, it's not about structure, it's about putting in when the contest gets hard, something Max did at fullback. The opposing forwards knew he was going to make them earn their kicks. I sincerely hopes Zac comes good but at the moment he has had a very poor year so far.

I think Peake is just starting to come good.
Apart from his offensive side he tackles well too..

I think that the combination of Gram + Peake could be very good for us and particularly in the finals.

I would drop Eddy before Peake.

What is the severity of Raph's injury? On Injury List has him as TBC. May be available anyway. That being the case it would be No Change.

Two big IF's.

If Raph is injured, Raph out.

If Zac is no longer injured, Zac in.

Otherwise no change.

His pace was only noticeable last game though. Every player looks slow when they get beaten, and the inevitable query on their age props up as well. He just had a bad game I reckon - he will bounce back next week. I agree that Peake won't get dropped no matter what. Eddy played well imo, but he's still the most vulnerable in our team. Once Roo is fit, Stanley will be equally as vulnerable - but he will be like McEvoy last year, an important tall back up. OUr best team at the moment will have Roo and Gram in with Eddy and Stanley omitted. What bodes well is that Eddy contributed well last game and that Stanley is coping and learning. He will need to contest for 100 minutes against the cats, rather than go missing for quarters at a time when we play them though.

Most of the goals came because of turnovers. Anyone who actually watched that match would know that it's very hard to guard your player when the ball is going back over your head. Same can be said about the blues match.

BTW did zac play when riewoldt went nuts?

May as well blood some fresh meat given we can't beat the Cats without Riewoldt. Even consider bringing in others from Sandy and give some seniors an extra mid year rest to have a decent crack at the finals.

Yes, he has been quiet but at least it keeps Sam Fisher down back where he plays better football and keeps a tall defender on Stanley.

I liked Peake's game and he would be unlucky to be dropped IMO
