Roo, King, Dempster, Gram and J Smith

Post: # 939126Post JABBER »

I rate these players in our best 22 and if fully fit towards the end of the season challenge for the flag.

Roo, Gram and Smith fully fit are certainly in our best 22. While King and Dempster are talented players when fit, they may not be in the best 22, but they'd certainly be putting pressure on those who are.

Depth is very very important come September.

I rate Roo and Gram out of the ones mentioned to be in our best 22. Who is Dempster?, King I think is being pipped by McEvoy who has the upside of more mobility and can be a fwd target, J Smith still has a long way to go to prove himself.

Riewoldt and Gram are, and J Smith would be a great bonus, freeing up Goddard for work further down the field.

Dempster could be if played correctly - that is, not as the third marking forward, and King only to be used if one of McEvoy and Gardiner are unavailable.

I dont think King is in our best 22....

Smith is not yet and Dempster is no where near it.

Sorry to say it ,but I will be surprised if Dempster ever gets another game unless we have heaps of injured players. Too many have gone past him now.

Is Kingy even turning out for Sandy just now? Is he injured or just resting?

Looks to me like he could be gone.

 That's a long bow mate, but you have some very lengthy bows in your collection. It's hard to imagine Dempster in our starting 22 this year when he hasn't played yet...even going on past form he may have been surpassed by Gwitl and Raph in their current form.

J Smith hasn't even played a game for us. Kingy will be retiring, I'm sure of it. If Big Mac can't do the job after 2 years AFL, I'm not sure putting King back in the team (if available) will make a difference.

Roo and Gram, go without saying.

You may be right barry.

If we were playing like we were last year, and the kids coming in were blitzing each week, I would totally agree.

However, given that a lot of people are not totally convinced that the team is performing well enough, and that many of the players that have supposedly gone past Dempster have not "nailed" their positions, I don't think we can definitely say he won't get a gig.

He will however have to start building a case for promotion.

Dempster is in our best 22. His long kicking and running skills are an asset in comparison to playing Geary, Eddy or even Armitage at this stage. The latter three have no immediate known pro's that would make them an inclusion, form or otherwise.

Are we becoming like North Melbourne supporters were with Jesse Smith? Chortle.

Good ol' Kingy. Kind of guy that could bob up and win another flag.

Dempster and King are not in the best 22 IMO. J. Smith I have never seen play (or didn't notice or care when at North). Roo is obviously our most important player and Gram would be top 10 at worst.

King is the type of player you could roll out in the finals with confidence he wont disgrace himself and could play his roll if Gards or Big Mac were injured.

wouldnt want king in the side at all this year unless one of them are injured or if benny literally plays 4 or so terrible games in a row..king has shown this year that he cant do anything around the ground and hardly breaks even in the ruck...

I gotta agree with that on King.

I would be shattered if Ben gets left out if King gets back up to fitness.

King in my opinion is still on the list as an unofficial coach and backup depth player...

He should not be put ahead the development of Mac, and to a lesser extent in terms of rucking, Stanley.
