Tommy Walsh Highlights from VFL

Post: # 936330Post shmic_s »

I've cut together a little package of Tommy's game for those that missed it.
Can anyone let me know on the rules about posting videos recorded from the ABC broadcast? (Mods delete if infringing)

Yeah his kicking still has a little to go, but he doesn't look out of place out there.

On reviewing the game i thought Lynch did okay for his first game back too. (someone mentioned he was poor)

i think he will be full forward and kosi will be rucking. looks every bit a player to me and could be really something.

thanks very much for the vision.

Where does Stanley fit then? There is no way we will play 3 forwards over 195cm. The ball will come out to quickly.

walsh, riewoldt and stanley are all extremely quick and none are hopeless when it hits the ground.

we'd be very difficult to match aerially and these guys could apply the forward pressure needed with no worries.

The way i see it is Stanley/Kosi rucking/rest forward, Walsh FF, Roo CHF, pushes up onto the wing. Maybe.

Im not sweating but IMO 3 talls on the forward line doesnt work. Even Geelong have put Hawkins in the ruck. Finally Kosi cannot ruck. He actually has no idea at bounces but is ok around the ground. Obviiously none of this happens if MG plays on.

depends on the talls. these three are quick, can tackle and win the ball at ground level. tommy is tough and physical.
plugger66 wrote:Kosi cannot ruck. He actually has no idea at bounces but is ok around the ground.
tap outs is a bit overrated as a stat imo, unless you have an 8 ft giant like sandilands who can palm it straight on to a teammate's chest.

also kosi is more than okay around the ground. he's a potential match-winner.

he's been a terrific player for us. depends on how the body holds up.

yeah, well neither of them has done a lot wrong.

but as ross says, the team picks itself.

if you are flying you are unlikely to be overlooked. so all these things would depend on form.

Who is this Walsh character you speak of?

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
