Roo will coach St Kilda one day-Lyon

Post: # 929449Post Milan Faletic »

Source: Post Match Press conference

RL was asked "How is the big blonde guy going?"

He said in so many words that he is good and he sat in the box and pulled a few good moves. Then joked about the fact that he will coach St Kilda one day but then actually said it in a more serious tone. Interesting.

There once was another blonde headed heir apparent who was destined to coach us, but sadly never quite got there.

Didn't know that about Justin Plapp.

Not so funny but I'm sure Barks would be happy that were challenging, since he never played in Finals.

Sorry in all honesty I was thinking Ditterich, all a little before my time.

No disrepect to Barks, a club legend gone before his time.

Riewoldt should stop wasting his time with Bwuce Wankavaney and continue to help the coaches in the box on match day. The forward line worked well after half time after they decided to kick the pill long.

Barks would have been a walk up start after Alves..

Had coached Sandringham to 2 flags and from memory the

Magoos were a decent side...

Roo has said previously that he has absolutely no interest in coaching and I believe him.

He is 27 years old. He will never change his mind about any decision he has made prior to this moment. If he does he is a liar.

He does not seem the analytical type. He seems more the 'go out and just play' type. He might know what he is talked about re coaching moved but being able to transfer that into a group of 40+ with the rest of a coaching unit is something entirely different than ordering players around a forward half or coming up with the odd good ideas from the back of the coaches box.

he's a natural leader and a very smart guy. ross obviously listens to him and values his judgement.

my gut feeling is that he'd make a terrific coach.

He should be coaching now ....
- Kozi how to mark
- Zac / Fisher / Gilbert / current backman playing FF, how to play in the forwardline.

Not sure whether I would get him to coach kicking for goal .....

He'll probably be one of those blokes with the potential to be a great coach but will earn mega bucks in the media and save himself the grief and hair loss.

To me he doesn't even seem like a person that wants to go into the media. He is not writing any articles for anyone anywhere at the moment so that should be a good display of his desire of a post-playing media career.
