Gilbert down , disposal ordinary, has got beaten regularly

Mini, I believe apart from a half a couple of weeks ago has been almost shocking.
He is in the team as a defensive forward. Yesterday he missed more tackles and most of them critical. Eddy surely deserves a shot at that role

Schneider, seems to go missing and then fumbles

Dawson, enough has been said

Even Gram has not been the same player

So I believe our elite are stil ok but it is these guys that have not stepped up again that is costing us.

add to that

Geary. Disposal and tackling is odinary

R Clarke is down on form

King Finished

And it hurts me to say but S Fisher

Milne and Gwilt have both tapered off as well. Dal Santo was poor against Carlton, but was good yesterday. Also, based on yesterdays form, McEvoy has not come on from last year.

Milne has credits in the bank as does schnieder. I actually think Gwilt has been good this year. Has played a variety of roles and is filling them as well as can be expected.

In the end our bottom players are simply not up to AFL standard

Hard to judge because he's playing in a different position a lot.

His finals series was excellent across half-back, and we do miss his creativity when we 'rob Peter to pay Paul.'

gilbert down??
while he has no right side i cant see him being 'down' with ordinary disposal :?
71.72% effective disposal percent
41 rebound 50s
35 one %ers

granted only 18 tackles
but his disposal has been ok i thought :?

I think the thing is when he has an ineffective disposal it is not just ineffective but a massive clanger. If you get my drift. It makes his disposal look worse than it is

agreed
he has had 25 clangers

and i would guess at maybe a few of them being from having no right side :?:

Gilberts disposal was'nt too bad yesterday, but the previous few games it was dreadful early in the matches.

don't necessarily disagree with that but you miss my point

I am talking the players who improved and played out of their skins last year

Geary only played a handful, King was not a factor and R. Clarke yes possibly

OK i see ur point I will give you Gaery not being in this topic. But he is terrible none the less and we are a poorer side because he is playing every week. But that is another topic

King was very servicable for us last year. Useless this year.

Behind reiwoldt fisher was our next best. Not even close this year

And therein is the problem in that Gwilt is the only player that has "stepped up" this year.

To be successful in any year your need several players to improve.

On the counter slop quite a number have hada big loss in form.

Gram has been injured a lot his year and IMO with him it is not form as when he has been fit he has looked good.

Hey i totally agree

Besides Reiwoldt Gram is our most important play.

I like to call playyers like him dam breakers. We have 3 of them and we only play well when at least 2 of them dominate. They have the ability to carry the ball into the zone and then kick the ball long over it finding a target.

For me only realy Gram, Gilbert and Ray have the ability or confidence to do this. With out these 3 playing well we look slow and we play stop start football

On another note does anyone else feel joey is having a year that while not being ordinary is no where near his best football

He has been getting plenty of it, but perhaps not as damaging this year.

But he's averaging 29 touches and 5 tackles a game, so hard to complain.

He's been in our best 5 this year with Lenny, Dal, BJ and Blake.

I think his disposal has been pretty poor. He certainly has a crack, which is a big part of what "Saints footy" is supposed to be. What a blush that is turning into for RL.

In all the years in the wooden spoon wilderness, we had heaps of below-par players, who at least had a crack. One favourite whipping boy was Kain Taylor. He was bloody 'opeless but he did have a crack.

Some of the players mentioned don't look as if they are giving it their all. 13, 20 and 32 have all struggled this year. The last has looked feeble without Roo.

I agree Gwilt looks better this year but I think Ray has stepped up a notch. So there are two improvers.

schneider and Milne are out of form.
Fisher is not as influencial as last year.
kozi is turning more and more into Mr Magoo
Enough said about Zac.
Mini / Armo at best ordinary
MCEvoy is going backwards
King is a waste of space
But the biggest issue is that there seems to be no flexibilty in the team (eg no one can cover the forward issue).
For those in the know, how is the envirnment at the club. Many of the players appear to be flat.
