Let's learn from Carlton

Post: # 920797Post dcstkfc »

Move Kosi into the Ruck.
Drop King.
Play a mobile forward such as Stanley or Lynch. Leave them there.
A small forward line can work.
Stanley, Milne, Schneider, Steven and McQualter will be able to kick scores.
The defence won't have to play teams with so many smalls again, and they will be more organised than that usually.
Our mids will lift, Joey was ordinary, CJ was crap, Dal was terrible, but this doesn't happen often.

ALL IS NOT LOST

IT IS ROUND 7

ROO WILL RETURN

WE HAVE ESSENDON, WEST COAST, ADELAIDE AND RICHMOND NEXT

WE CAN WIN THE FLAG

STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY

Probably 8-3 at halfway, maybe 7-4. Essendon and Eagles at Subi danger games. Crows too injured and Tigers just crap. But if we served up what we did tonight...

I am not sure that Lynch is that mobile...at least at present.

Only need to win 12 for the season to make the finals.
Already have 5 of those in the bag.
With Riewoldt back for the finals, the 3 lower teams in the 8 wont be able to resist.
Then the preliminary and grand finals wil be winable games.

Just need to regularly bag wins until Riewoldt returns.

Realistically we need to make the top 4 to win it.

We'll need to win 14 at least, perhaps more to avoid an interstate final.

We'll be back though. We are a great side. Really. Our defensive structure is absurdly good, we can be exploted by pace, but only a few sides have this. Don't stress.

I disagree, we need a team that is one of the best 4 to win it.
The difference between the top 2 and teams 6, 7, & 8 is usually so great that 6, 7, & 8 are outclassed in the finals.
However if you finish 8th with the one of the 2 best teams the premiership is a reality.

We lost the game in centre clearances, if we had been able to get the ball from the bounce and bang it in long maybe our small forwards Milne and Schnadzo would have had some crumbing opportunities.

We were at a disadvantage in that Carlton got first hands on the ball almost every time and had it in their forward 50 within seconds.
