Team vs Doggies

Post: # 913589Post One Eyed Saint »

B. Baker / Zac / Blake
HB. Fisher / Gwilt / Gilbert
C. Joey / CJ / Gram
CHF. Schneider / Stanley / BJ
F. Milne / Kosi / McQ
R. Gardi / Hayes / Dal
IC Ray / Clarke / Geary / Armo

Changes should be:

IN
Stanley - mobile tall forward target
Gram - run and carry (breaks the lines)
Ray - run and good user of the footy

OUT
King - too old, too slow, not effective anymore
Eddy - tries hard but will never dominate a game
Peake - has had enough chances to impress. Has speed but thats about it.

Gard/Kosi can rotate the ruck with Stanley, Milne and Schneider keeping the permanent forward posts.

We will need leg speed off the bench to match the doggies

Out: King, McQualter and Peake.

Zac lucky again.

You wouldn't bring Farren back in if fit?

Out: Zac, Raph

In: Gram, Ray

We can cover Zac's loss in the backline comfortably with the insertion of Gram to play the running role and either Gilbert or Fisher assumes the key back position along with Blake

Im not sure with Halls form we can drop Zac.

Sure Hall got the better in the NAB Cup AFTER Dawson got injured but I also think with Fisher in the side it helps Zac out enormously.

Out King, Mini, Peake

In Ray, Steven, McEvoy

Raph didn't have a good game at all against Port, but why wouldn't you play him against the Doggies after his last game against them?

Dunno why, I just have a strange feeling Gram may miss again. :?

The club injury report that says it was updated on "Monday 24th April 2010" says he has an ankle injury. Seeing as that day and date doesn't exist, I doubt they know what's going on.

Two 6 day breaks in a row. I wonder if we'll see more than a few changes for Friday night.

I would say Gram and Ray (if fit) would be automatic ins. Other possibilities would be Steven, McEvoy and maybe Stanley.

Outs would be out of Eddy, Peake, King (rested) and possibly Geary.

In: Gram and Ray if fit
Out: Eddy (didn't play too bad but last in first out) and Peake (hasn't done enough imo)

I am not sure that taking Mini or Geary out will do much for our pressure. Mini just needs to start kicking goals again and he will be back to his best. Geary has been really good wouldn't think he would miss out.

Jack Steven won't play seniors this week. Didn't play saints or zebs at the weekend.

Gram will play if fit, so will Ray. So, on a last in, first out basis Rob Eddy could be on shaky ground. The other change could be Peake (like for like with Ray)

Mc Evoy was mentioned in the best for Sandi at the weekend but might need to string a few very good games together before being promoted.

Ross Lyon likes to keep a settled side and rarely makes more than 2 changes !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Isn't that because he travelled to Adelaide as an emergency though Eastern, I thought he was really close for selection?

Yep pulled out of Sandy during warm up (i Believe) because Ray was not going to get up and they flew him to Adelaide as back up.

hmmmm
i like zac for BH

but i actually reckon zac is not quick enough to stop him on a lead
body on body when he can get a small jump and fist too it he is ok i reckon (unless ive completely missed something and he has had 30 marks taken on him in contests)

def love to see gram in, we certainly need some zip back in for the doggies.
ray id like to see in too...he is a quiet achiever

I have been Eddy's biggest knocker in the past but thought last week was

his best game for the club. I think mini should be first out after another

shocker last week against Port. He has done very little this year.

I really really doubt Peake will make the cut again.

And if he does I'll be pissed off. Getting a tad sick of watching him jog around the ground.

Also, glad no one has nominated Gwilt to be dropped.

He's playing with a hitherto unseen level of confidence. He's got a massive frame, long accurate kick and nearly the best handball in the team. Sticky gloves, too. If he's given support and played week in week out, which I expect, he'll just about break into our top 10 this year.

Pattison is ahead of McEvoy IMO

IN

Pattison, Gram and Ray

OUT

King, Mini and Peake

IF

Gram or Ray doesn't come up then Steven

Yeah, but my thinking is that if he was "only" on the cusp and didn't play at either level he would be best served by having a full game with Sandi !!

My two cents worth, I'm still pretty disappointed with how we played last week, no one with the exception of Schneider IMO had sure hands and their kicking was way below average. Port seemed to beat us to the ball and moved it with assurance and quickly. That said, I'd bring four in:

Gram, Ray (if both fit), Steven and Stanley or McEvoy

OUT
King
Dawson
Eddy
McQualter

To me it seems Zac and Mini need a couple of weeks playing back in Sandy with the message that no one's place is guaranteed. If Gram & Ray don't come up then I'd even be tempted to play Smith & Heyne, they may or may not deserve it but I'm sure their enthusiasm and freshness would add some much needed bite to a line up I think looked stale and uninterested.

Then again Ross may simply put a rocket up the current 22 and show some faith that last week's execution and effort was simply an anomaly. That our mids were embarrassing with their disposal and movement and our forward line became dysfunctional because of it, which still does not excuse the lack of pressure our forwards put on their backs...This weeks game offers a chance to atone for that performance.

So your plan is to drop two blokes who have been part of a team that has dropped 4 games in 2 seasons and bring in two blokes by your own admission don't deserve it on the back of one loss.

IMO Zac was pretty good on Saturday night I would of had him in the top half of our players and I rekon Mini is going alright apart from missing a coupe of goals.

What is your basis for that. He played at full forward in a team that won by 100 points and could hardly get near it. Ben didn't do much better in his games but I would hardly think Pattison is ahead of anyone.

We should try and squeeze Steven in somehow, we badly need some extra pace.

Seems a few antnig to throw the baby with the bath water after 1 loss.

Playing a very fast team, perhaps McEvoy for King as they have mobile bigs, Gram if fit will come in but other than that really cannot see too many changes. Peake or Eddy could be the unlucky one.
