Reserves back in 2011?

Post: # 910970Post jonesy »

According to Liam Pickering on Fox tonight anyhow. Must admit,I missed most of what he said, but apparently he has heard rumours that the reserves competition will be back next year...

Anyone hear what he said entirely?

I can't see how it is going to work,be great if it did but

Too good to be true.

Dimwit and Anderscum would never allow a great idea like that.

They may need to as the talent will be hard to find.

We have a few mature age players making headlines this year so it has already started.

Easier to keep an eye on reserves than VFL

Hope it happens but imagine the ticket price to cover it

Membership will cost $250+ for a single and who wants that

Why is it a great idea. We could do it now if we wanted and we chose to go to Sandy. And if you think the games will be played before the seniors then you also beleive in the tooth fairy. The grounds would never allow it.

I've heard we are considering fielding a stand alone team.

I can't see how it is going to work,be great if it did but
He said that all teams would have a reserves team in the competition, so that would include all interstate teams.

He didn't say that they would be a curtain raiser for the seniors but I think the AFL like the idea of building a supporter base at the second level and taking control of the second tier of players.

I'm not sure I agree with it but with respect to Sandy, I think more people would go to see a stand alone Saints team with the Saints colours.
