Saint Brendon Goddard says sorry to Fremantle Supporter-HS

Post: # 909611Post Milan Faletic »

ST KILDA star Brendon Goddard has apologised to a young Fremantle supporter hit by a ball he kicked into the crowd during Sunday's game at Etihad Stadium.
Goddard insisted on apologising to the Dockers cheer squad member, Kiran, despite the father of the young fan saying there was no need......

Well done BJ. Class act.

Manager of St John first aid services, Andrew Foran, said the boy suffered only "very minor" injuries.

"He was treated for a short time and then remained at the game to watch the rest of the match," Mr Foran said.
I thought the kid was on death's door?

Surely this story was not a beat -up??!

A beat up over nothing. As if BJ would do that on purpose, but glad he apologised.

What a shame a kid got whacked when there's people like that beer chucking nuff nuff Doggie bloke sitting in the front row ...

Watching the rest of the game obviously hurt him more than the ball to the guts. Must be devastated they crumbled in the first 5 minutes. Shame that.
MEDIA BEAT UP, looking for issues that ain't there. If he meant to hit 'em he would have watched where the ball went instead he just ran off.

Nice.

Interesting that it was posted by a brisbane supporter... I'm not a fan, but I guess one thing about supercoach and the like is it means people end up following and barracking for players from other clubs.... I know a lot of people think BJ is a must have in their team.

This.

Was OBVIOUS he didn't mean it for the above reason. I couldn't believe that supposed 'footy experts'were even questioning it. Body language tells you stacks about a persons actions, and B.J's indicated, that whilst in retrospect he may have been a little reckless he certainly wasn't lining anyone up.

It's a reminder of the times we live in though. Remember plugger lining up the old codger behind the goals in Sydney many years ago? Now THAT was deliberate (and bloody funny) Plugger would have been sued and been forced to mumble an apology after it being on the back page of every newspaper for the whole week. The old codger took it in good spirit at the time too (probably knowing he would be portrayed as a whinger if he didn't) Just shows how much the world has changed though.

This kind of thing would happen in India all the time as teams including national teams have open training sessions where everyone gathers around. The security do not seem to care either.
