Who is going to play Key Fwd??

Post: # 907896Post BigMart »

Last 3 games we have dropped KF's and replaced them with others....now we have no natural KF's at all

Kosi - susp....replaced with Pattison (Ruck fwd)
Pattison - omit....replaced with KingRuck)
Reiwoldt - Inj....replaced with Clarke (def)

Possible Backs:
Blake 191cm
Dawson 195cm
Gilbert 194cm
Fisher 191cm....will play on Pav
Clarke 189cm
Gwilt 188cm
Goddard 191cm.....Utility Back

Possible Fwds
Gardiner 199cm....Ruck first
Gwilt 188cm .....can play as lead up fwd
Goddard 191cm......Utility fwd
S.Fisher 191cm.....really needed down back
Gilbert 194cm.....definitly needed down back
Clarke 189cm.....flanker at best, more suited at HB

None of those are natural key forwards.......it will have to be a make shift set up....not a fan of make shift...because we need it for 16 weeks

Very surprised Lynch/Stanley were not included....not sure Clarke is required as we have plenty of HB's

B: Blake - Dawson - Baker
HB: Gram - Fisher - Gilbert
C: Montagna - Hayes - Ray
HF: Schnieder - Gwilt - McQualter
F: Milne - Gardiner - Goddard
Foll: King - Dal Santo - Jones
Int: Peak - Clarke - Armitage - Geary

I heard that Lynch is injured and not playing for Sandy this week. I agree that our team does not look balanced, Macpharlin played well against Geelong and could drift forward against us as there is no natural matchup. Kosi back next week will be a better set up.

I'd say Gwilt will almost certainly be up forward, with one of Fisher or Goddard there at all times as well. If Gardiner plays he'll spend a fair bit of time there.

He sent me an email with a picture of him and Jarryn. They both looked good.

Tom got quite a bit of game time last year with Sandy. I take it you mean with the Saints.

Tom Lynch is a kid with a ton of ability and Ross will play him when he is ready.

Is Stanley an emergency?

I agree, I think this week Stanley should have been included just so we have a permanent target for the duration of the match. At the moment it looks like it will be some ad hoc combination of Milne/Gwilt/Goddard/Gardiner.

and to think we could have had Fevola... When a champion comes on the selection table you pick him up...Voss has done very well, has been agressive in trade week and is paying off

Ask Voss, because he was a saints supporter, because he is a gun ff and because because he wins games...

put aside the prejudice, this is footy

How many games did he win for Carlton in his 10 years there?

Last time the club put aside the prejudice, it didn't work so well...it's more than footy

I've seen some monumental boo-hoo-ing on this site lately...Cousins, Lovett, Maguire...but boo-hoo-ing over Fev takes the cake. He was never ever going to play for St Kilda, whether we wanted him or not. We couldn't afford/didn't want/don't need him. Forget it.

missed four so far this year, but last year he played every game except the first for the reserves, so i don't think there's any basis for your statement.
