I for one felt sorry for Luke last night. He will be hard pressed to find a spot at Collingwood. He still looks under Dick or Cox and Goldsack looks like he's going to hold Luke's position. I think all Saints fans should stop being so hard on him.

The definition of a mercenary is someone who does something really awful for a lot of money. That means playing for Collingwood for 500K. that means Luke Ball.

Personnaly i would like to see him play 22 games for the pies. It would prove that their midfield isn't strong enough to win a premiership since a player that can not be garenteed a game with us is able to be a permanent crucial fixture in their side. Also his fantastic kicking skill (much the same skills set as Ben Johnson and Alan Toovey) would be an asset to their chances to win games.

I completely agree - I felt terrible for him all night. I think people here must be delusional to some extent in regards to Ball. There can be no doubt that he wasn't really wanted and, although I don't believe he was pushed, I doubt much effort was made to keep him.
Let the guy be. He doesn't deserve to be vilified - he deserves to get a fresh start.
