Ross on 3AW
Apparantly Ross will be on 3AW this arvo at 6.20. Saw this on Facebook, dont blame me if it doesnt happen
Followed Saints since '71
Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future
Some people make things happen, some people watch things happen, but most just say " What the f#&k happened!".

Tweaks to gameplan, but not 'too much difference'. Systems in place, minor changes.
Winmar minor setback last couple of weeks, soreness. Moves really well. Bit of a gait on him. Looks like an 800 runner.
My thoughts - won't see Winmar this year at all! Setback emphasised.

Ox asked for some inside info on a selection smokey - Hutchinson gave him nothing! Pretty bloody hard team to break into he said! Really strong response I thought. Seems like they're all up and about. Did however mention McEvoy. Said King and Gardy to 'compete' with. Everyone else had people 'in front' of them. Hutch said Peake training well too. Didn't give much away again though.

Ross has mentioned Steven, McEvoy again. Also Armo. Armo big chance this year. Big-bodied inside mid. Said specifically Macca 15-20 games. Steven pace and pressure through the lines.
Gwilt and Geary they are looking for improvement.
He's now hosing down the Ball thing, said positive things about Ball, defended Roo and did it all quite diplomatically too. Gerard building up the Rnd 3 game as a spite match.

nick will play friday night and they will monitor most of the senor plyers time.
Interesting but short interview. Sounds like the whole club is over the luke ball issue and the only reason roo bit the other day was to set things straght. Both interviews tonight they played a very straight bat.
Suprised that ross said he expected big mac to play 15 - 20 games this year. Either thats a big thumbs up to mcenvoy or spells doom for king

Billings - future brownlow medallist Longer - future best ruck
Dunstan - future captain Eli - future cult hero
Acres - future norm smith

Should be noted that when asked, both Greg and Ross when asked who is stepping up, in a way both said straight off the bat - Steven and McEvoy.
Gerard asked directly about Armo - from both interviews and answers I get the impression that Armo will play a lot this year. But ultimately he has his fate in his own hands. Without being said, it's make or break. I think Hutchinson mentioned that Armo would be the first to say he's not happy with his first 3 years of input in the AFL system. But both, RL and GHutch, without blowing trumpets, seemed quietly confident he can step up. Point is - it's over to you DA.

Macca is most definitely under the pump in 2010.Suprised that ross said he expected big mac to play 15 - 20 games this year. Either thats a big thumbs up to mcenvoy or spells doom for king

I would have thought that it meant that King is "under the pump".bigred wrote:Macca is most definitely under the pump in 2010.Suprised that ross said he expected big mac to play 15 - 20 games this year. Either thats a big thumbs up to mcenvoy or spells doom for king

Ben asa "young-un" has pleanty of time. If he does play 15-20 games in 2010 it wil IMO be a real bonus as it will mean that he has gone past King.
Lets hope Ben's tap and ruckwork has gone up a notch. I am already pretty confident about his marking.

I dont think King is under the pump at all.
He is being kept on the list as a coach imo...may have to step up a few times but mainly he is there to help the kids. Perfect man for the job imo.
Macca IS under the pump. Most definately. We are looking to this bloke to be our #1 ruck for the next era...
He has big shoes to fill.

First prize Albert!
Yes, I know. And I knew you would say that too! Don't you find everything is too predictable?

This suggests to me Macca will play as the 3rd tall forward quite a bit this year, occasionally rotating on the ball. If this comes off we will have a very potent and flexable forward line with Gardi also able to push forward and Kosi to have the occasional run in the ruck !!Quixote wrote:Ross has mentioned Steven, McEvoy again. NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
