Not the best use of the rookie draft.

is Allen to do with TPP

With Leigh because he had 1 year to go (contract) .....obliged(under rules) to select as a senior age rookie IF NO ONE ELSE SELECTS...(this or previous drafts-National/Psd)

The club can pay out their contracts in 2009 if they have room in the salary cap.
However if no room exists they need to be paid out in 2010.
To do that, they need to be listed.

Yeah disappointing FISHER ...

Post: # 865902Post WinnersOnly »

I agree he must have signed 3 year contract about the time he was playing seniors - wow what a list clogger. He might think he is still a chance but the game is way to fast for him now.

Who ever signed him on this contract needs a major rocket!

To have a year left it must have been at least a four year deal he was on as he has barely been near the first team in three years.

I want his manager to negotiate my next contact as he rodgered the saints royally here.

Allen's entire 2010 salary will be outside the cap now. Same with Fisher.

WTF happened to Fischer anyway? A brilliant 06 from my memory, then he fell in a hole.

What is TTP, sorry I still don't understand  I understand Fischer had a year left and we have to pay him out. But with Jarred, I thought if you retired it was different?

That was my memory of him too. Thought he was a decent player. RL obviously never rated him as Leigh Fisher's hard times coincided with RL's appointment I think.

From another thread (the controversial cutting of Matt Maguire) - somebody needs their head checked over the re-signing of Fisher at the end of 2008.

Need an answer, Saints...

Given he didn't play after Round 11 in 2008 - a season where only twice did he get more than 10 touches - why would he have been given a two-year deal?

That doesn't make any sense. Next year he turns 26.

I'm not making this stuff up, it's all here: http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/play ... isher.html

Can someone clarify how we gave Leigh Fisher a two-year deal after his 2008 season?

I mean, when you talk about list mangement, it's not exactly prudent, is it? Particularly on a day when the club has squeezed out a favourite son who still had plenty to offer.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

I though I heard in preseaon last year that he was fitter, trimmer and faster than before -- in top 2 or 3 around the tan -- and was looking to getting back in the firsts as a running in-and-under / tagger. It seemed to me that McQualter took his place, and never looked back -- sadly for Leigh.
He might still be only one injury away from a role in the seniors.

Fisher never seemed to be the same after those horrendous hamstring injuries.

As a Saints rookie, will he be playing at Sandringham, or have the Club just used the Rookie listing as a convenient loophole and told him to play elsewhere. I can see him as being a good experienced player for Sandy, something they may need with the departure of a number of their experienced players.

i dont think the Saints have any hold on him at all so he is free to play anywhere he likes.
