Know nothing about Myers but probably not beyond realm of possibilities, although RL has said Ball required and will be offered a contract

A giant load of crap but I'd probably take that. Myers will be a very handy player in the future and Lovett is exactly the type of player we need to add to our midfield.

Bally's a champ but really not far ahead of Armo, while Maguire is surely finished at AFL level.

Myers was taken around pick 5 or 6 a couple of years ago was he not?

Why would they trade a young player who will be very important to them in the next couple of years, to a club where he won't get a game?

In their dreams? Are you kidding, do you know who Myers is? He was the no.6 overall pick in the 2007 National Draft. Taken ahead of Cyril Rioli, Patrick Dangerfield, Rhys Palmer, Ben McEvoy, Harry Taylor, Andy Otten etc

Fiora was taken ahead of Pavlich. Ball taken ahead of Judd etc etc etc.

A high dp doesn't automatically mean he is going to make it.

I realise that, but I don't think there's any reason to suggest he won't.

Now I have heard it all. No actually I have heard enough.

Why don't we swap Riewoldt and Kosi for Bell Chambers and Lucas (out of retirement)?

We would have to throw in someone like Goddard for them to even CONSIDER that trade. I mean Bellchambers is their future and Lucas a premiership player

I'd actually be quite happy with that trade. One potential problem being that Myers is a player that we already have quite a few of (Goddard, Gilbert, R Clarke etc).

Don't think Essendon would go for it, can't see it happening in any case.

If this offer was seriously on the table, not only would I most likely take it, but I'd probably be willing to throw our second round draft pick in, too, if it got it done. Maybe even our first.
I mean if we're looking to win a flag here and not just trading/drafting to get our new BFF (best friend forever), like some seem to be, it would probably be a no-brainer.
We all love Bally, but he's 25 in a 35yo's body and is playing half a game, even when it's wet (the conditions that suit him best) and may have only 2-3 years left. There's also not a lot of point in having both he and Armo on the list, as it's unlikely both will be picked in the same side, meaning one is "wasted".
Goose, on the other hand, didn't even get a game when Max or Zac were out, so unfortunately looks unlikely to be any more than "back-up" next year.
Lovett, on the other hand, plays the type of footy that we need more than probably any other, breaking the lines with exceptional pace and daring and kicking long goals. If you'd asked me earlier in the year what type of player we needed most of all, I'd have said someone like Andrew Lovett. Now he may actually be on the table.
While Myers, unless he's lost what made Essendon take him with the no. 6 pick, would hopefully play 200+ games for us and could be just the guy to free up Goddard to play forward. http://www.essendonfc.com.au/team/player.asp?id=117
Unless I was picking purely on emotion (which is not a great way to do business, and lets not forget, the St Kilda FC is a multi-million dollar business) I'd probably take this deal (if it were on the table) and run like I'd stolen it. Our chances of winning the flag next year would go up considerably.
Having said that, I very much doubt it's on the table.

It's funny how the rumour mill goes. Earlier in the year there was talk that Essendon would try and get Alex Rance to reunite him with Pears and Myers. Now, supposedly, Myers is out of favour. I'd love to get him. He's a big, mobile kid with great skills and a big tank. I doubt Ball or Myers will be moving though. Goose might. Lovett will. This looks like a fan-invented rumour.

Exactly and why would they want Goose, anyway? They already have Pears, Hooker, Fletcher (for the time being), Hurley, Gumbleton and Ryder (who may go back, or forward, when Hille returns).

You don't mean that...?

Fk, I'd give up Armitage to get Hurley!
