I'm a member who like many here missed out on a ticket. Are there any supporters heading up to try and find a ticket on the day from a scalper? If so, does anyone know from past experience the chances of getting something and the prices you may have to pay?

I'm going to try and potentially scalp a ticket on the day if I can't find a way to get one. Not sure how im going to go about it, gotta find out the laws on a scalped ticket etc..

My take on it is that it's illegal to sell the tickets, but there isn't a law that results in a fine for those who buy them. Although I could (probably am) wrong, so don't take my word on that.

i had a mate that got a passout at the GF once to get back in and when he went to go in they didnt take his ticket, so he had a passout in his hand, he then went out again and they gave him another one.. He then had 2 passouts, but only needed to get back in once, so he rang a mate and his mate used the passout to get back in
I dont know if this happens reguraly and if they use stamps now?

Usually do the main drinking holes about a couple of hours before the game, reasonable chance of getting a ticket. You will have to pay, but prices go down as the match approaches....

Everyone talks about paying a record boy for a uniform but St Johns ambo's are the way to go.
If you see a roaming pair of St Johns volunteers (especially young ones, which they quite often are) you can either;
*fake an illness & they will take you to their first aid centre inside the ground (don't fake a real serious one or they'll just call an ambo!)
*pay them to escort you inside on the premise you are ill.
I've tried it before & it's only taken $100 each to convince them.
Keep this between us & don't post it on BigFooty ( I know MCG staff that are now aware of ways to scam inside & have tightened things up!)

Pre-legislation (when you cold legally advertise tix for sale) all you needed to do was head t the MCG Hotel in the morning of he game and look for ppl with a copy of the paper turned to that page with a pen in their hand..and there were plenty
a few discreet questions and you were pointed in the right direction
A mate got an awesome seat in 1999 for not that much more than cost price (think he paid $200) about an hour b4 the game.
The tix are worth exactly nothing after 2.30 lol
