A Brownlow medal is a distraction we can do without.
Yes we have some great champions who would be worthy winners.
But
I am just happy to focus on the BIG one.
Harvey winning in 97 did not help our cause.
He had to attend numerous functions and was under scrutiny.
It took part of our focus off the big prize.
I'd like to see 22 of our guys with a medal next Saturday.
Everything else is secondary.
I hope the Brownlow goes to ... NOT a StKilda player

It won't make any difference to whoever wins its' performance.
Players are schooled in media now and obviously the player whoever it may be who wins it will be used to to talking cliche bullding anyway so a few extra media appearances during the week that will not impede on training will not hurt

Saying that you do not want someone to win a Brownlow due to the Grand Final coming up is a load of bull.
Players are able to handle extra media as they do it weekly. Especially the players invited are the best in the competition. Thus used to it
To suggest that it will hinder said player and the club is a crock. Do not use the Woewoodin example either - he was a lower quality player coming good for 2/3's of a season to win it.
