Well done saints fans

Post: # 812758Post Sainter_4_life »

Ive got to say that today was one of the loudest (and biggest) saints crowds i have heard for a long time. Its usually easy to get drowned out by the hoards of pie fans, but from where i was in M7, the red, white and black was pumping :)

Now lets all back up for the prelim 8-)

Certainly sounded that way on the garbage box and radio, was fantastic, the cheer for Roo leaving the ground at the end was great, appeared to me the players appreciated after the game

M30/31 was also fantastic..loads of chanting and fanatical supporting.

A far cry from where I was for the Pies final last year, where I copped a bunch of theatre goers (members tho!!) around me, plus Pies fans cos the bay hadnt sold out

Twas a beauuuutiful sight to look around the ground just after the siren and see the Saints bays packed, standing and singing their heads off, with acres of empty seats around them!!

You lot over around M7 looked and sounded fantastic from way up near the Oly scoreboard ... as were the cheer squad bays behind the goals ...

Loved it at the end when all the bays around you were empty and deserting .. but your bays were just a full flowing sea of red, white & black !!!!

Yes congratulations fans.

Our boys beat Collingwood and we beat the filth supporters.

You guys in the Southern Stand were the clear winners - I could hear from the middle of the top deck of the members, filth supporters had nothing on you.
Was especially good as most of the committed MCC members were Collingwood bogans. (Those who nominated them should be ejected from the club along with them.)
The neutrals were clearly pro St Kilda but were generally silent.

Now keep it up for the next two games, slackers will dropped to the support Sandringham reserves.

I was worried the filth crowd could be an influence if they got some momentum going. But we were LOUD 'N' PROUD today.

Have to agree

Reckon it was pretty close to 50/50...we've never done that against the Pies

I actually think there were more Sainters there today & we were certainly more vocal.

Kudos to the Cheer Squad. They were great today.

Where we were in M8 the guys directly in front of us were leading a lot of chanting (pretty sure they do the same on the MW at the dome). Looked very familiar, but sorry , don't know the names

The area around us was rocking and I have no voice left - awesome day.

Kelli Underwood, with Scott Cummings, was sitting in the front row of M50, eight rows in front of us

Hopefully today goes some of the way to changing that.

We certainly come out of our shells when the team needs us (Hawks comeback last year, Cats and Pies this year)

don't klnow that it was planned but there was someone near us that was lading the chants too

looking from the M50's area there was a definite trend to the red in most areas-- although we had pies sitting behind us- the bays grouping seems to work well.
give a split of the colours.

Listening to the game on the radio you were loud. Very enjoyable to hear.
When the saints came onto the ground you could barely hear the filth booing.
Well done and keep it up!

On my way in, heard them saying on Triple M that it looked like being more saints than pies, which I thought wasn't possible. There was certainly a lot of red all over the ground, but I couldn't beleive how loud we all were. That noise was incredible!

To be fair the Pies fans didn't have a great deal to cheer about

Had a ball taking the pi55 out of Pies fans on the train on the way home.

Although whilst buying pizzas at Pizza Mouth in Spencer Street, some clown Pie came in and wanted to take us on with a VB stubbie....

Fortunately that message from the club captains kicked in and he decided to walk away from it...

It'd be a brave (but more likely very stupid) 'pies follower that would want to take you on, Iceman.

We were in M8 and I have to agree the crowd there was fantastic!
We were front row, second from the aisle between M8 and M9 which was a collingwood bay. There were a couple of young guys in the front row there that were absolute ferals, and I thought they might spoil things for us, but security spoke to them early (I'm guessing someone used the text-a-pest number?), and they shut up so that was good.
Must say I loved it when the crowd started singing our theme song and it reverberated loud and clear around the WHOLE GROUND! Magnificent!

I was surpirsed by the noise of the saints fans, was very refreshing. I love beating collingwood.

Was just one clown who wanted to belt someone - didn't take much to talk him down - bit like BJ vs. Daisy really

Sort of...

Anyway, I do recommend Pizza Mouth in Spencer Street, good boys and good pizza's.
