M Gardiner unlikely, with RL talking about his options:

"Ben McEvoy’s been going pretty well. You talk about bringing Max (Hudghton) in and do you ruck (Jason) Blake and have one ruckman? We’ve got a few options there.â€

Is it too late to bring Rix back?

Anyone seeing training today would be in no doubt that the plan is for Michael to return as soon as the fitness people give the all clear.

I reckon that despite training with the VFL Reserves today, Luke, Max, James and Jarryn remain in the fame for selection. It will be a question of whether the two or three first choices who have doubts on their fitness come up, on who Collingwood plays and on Ross's instincts. As usual, all (well almost all) will be revealed on Thursday night. We will have to wait till Friday for the extended bench to be culled.

Blake isn't bad as a pinch hitter, remember what he did to Hawthorn during the H & A last year.

Makes sense, the fagpies don't have a ruckman as such, run Blake with Fraser and strengthen up the backline with Max.

Or if they drop Wood and ruck Leroy Brown, Blake against Brown wouldn't stress me too much.

Fraser's strength is as an around the ground follower, another midfielder.

Blake would be a very good match up if Ross decided to go that way.

The plot thickens.

Its seriously funny that some people on here are even contemplating having Blake in the ruck!

ALL season, the saints have played with 2 established 200cm 100KG ruckman, with our midfield setups being based around having these ruckman in place.

And now you want to throw Blake in there, a cornerstone of our defence, into the ruck, both destabilising the defence and the midfield?

Thats ludacris.

Good luck McEvoy in your first final this week!!! (And go Blake - I hope you dominate Travis Cloke or John Anthony!)

Big McEvoy has been terrific in the way he has consistently improved. He is a real trier and his effort is great for siuch a big bloke. he has terrific below knee skills and his hands are great. Once his body on body stuff improves - and it will - he'll be a real player. I have no doubt that he'll acquit himself well if he gets a run. Still reckon its a case of watch this space with Gardi. I reckon he's every chance of playing. But if he doesn't McEvoy has more than earned his spot.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

I believe up to 10 changes could be made to counteract Collingwoods possible 5 changes.

Ball into the ruck
Riewoldt to Sandringham
blah blah blah

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.
