Who was the St.Kilda player?
In the 1980s who wore a motorcycle/cricket helmet and had a very high number?

I think Tony Southcombe for Carlton wore specs in 1977
Blethyn's last year was in 1976
Chris Stone of the Saints, wore some kind of eye protection...may have been early 80,s
Dont think he wore specs, but sure he had a helmet, started with a high number then went to 15 i think
I love this club

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Never liked Specky Blethyn.
Once at Windy Hill, in their forward pocket, the ball was going over his St Kilda opponents head.
Specky deliberately jumped into the back of a St Kilda player with all his boots studs, and pushed back real hard.
He took the mark.
Specky could easily have taken the mark on his chest.
The St Kilda player was in serious pain with a backfull of stud holes and Specky got to kick for goal.
I wanted to put Specky's eyes out.
It should have been paid pushing in the back - with boot studs.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
