Ball shines after second dumping

40 possies not too shabby.

Ball's third match at Sandringham yesterday was his best, shirking off any thoughts that groin problems that affected the start of his career had returned.

''That's all clear, there's no dramas at all there,'' he said.

''My groins are as good as they've ever been.

I thought it was his 2nd match for Sandy

no third
missed bye
then played at TBBO and then at Windy Hill and today

be ineterested to know more exact stats
he supposedly had 18-20 to half time
but possibly slowed- as did the team in the last- Ch ten corrected it to 24
but that doesn't make sense either as that would indicate only 4-6 posessions in the second half

PS Did anyone tape the VFL game today. My sytem failed.

Apparently articles wrong he didnt have 40 touches more like 24/25 or so.

Regardless, great to hear him say his groins etc arent the issue and that its more likely bad habits hes aquired - says a lot about the person when they can themselves put their hand up and simply admit they need to get better.

Its not about stats anyway - Ablett has 50 a agame and 25 are cheap round the back of guys on the mark handpasses in the back half - means shyte. Ball can walk back into that side if he can just run, carry and show all he knows how to get an "outside" ball and create. IMHO Lyon is trying to help him become the complete package...just some tough love to get there.

He's always been class Ball - just really hope he finds that mojo.

The 5th quarter said he had 40 possies. Maybe the Saints are talking up his numbers which is another way of saying that he'll be back in the ones next week

They then correct to 24 or so and made a joke that the fella doing stats reckons hes a guru but obviosuly aint.

Anyway it aint about stats (hes gotta get more than 1o if he gets a run) but first hes gotta run...

It's just good to finally hear it from Bally-
one of the problems has been we hadn't heard from him ( or Ross) and that fueled rumour and innuendo....

Think it is great to hear from Bally.

Way more interesting to hear from him than some of the rubbish that is sprouted by some on here. He knows he has a few things to work on and thankfully he is getting support from those that matter, as he himself mentions.

I feel we will see him play an important part in September. He might just come good right when it matters most!

I watched it. He was classy and with Geary, who was probably our best, was a standout. Didn't do a lot in tha final quarter though, when we were fighting a stout breeze and a definite home ground advantage and probably a better side.

Never write off a champion... and Bally is a champion.
I've lost count of how many times he gets his head taped up as a result of his attack on the footy... Bally is simply the toughest in and under player in the league... Well done to him (and RL) for working on any deficiencies in his game.
I can't wait to see him at his best in the Finals.

Did you see the game ? No one has ever questioned Lukes attack on the ball or man , its his running and kicking thats the problem and what concerns me even more is him saying his groins are better than they have ever been and if thats true what are the reasons he cant run and kick ???? Think of it that way ,
Ps , geary was best on ground by a fair way i think

Didn't see the game, Gurgman... but would be interested in more details from those who did.... some comments in this thread about his game are, "Classy" and "Played a beauty".
Did he run and carry? Did he manage any penetration with his kicking? Absolute Bonus if he did those things.

I don't expect Bally to run 100m and sink one from outside 50m... His job is to crash packs, extract the pill and dish off to blokes like Joey, Grammy, BJ or Ray.

IMHO Bally's inclusion will be crucial to our Flag chances.

Yeah i watched it , dont get me wrong , luke played ok but i didnt see any gut running and his kicking was as normal . For some to say he played a blinder well , maybe they have rose coloured glasses , he hardley tore the game apart and as we have seen in recent weeks Eddy gets best on ground and most of us dont think he is up to it yet .
I cant see him playing next week unless we have some serious issues today .

Luke may just be like a Golden Slipper winner , great as a 2yo but doesnt or cant go on with it as a 3yo ,

So his disposals were damaging? Did he carry the ball and hit his targets?

I only saw a bit but what I did see he was good and his disposals were spot on.
