Post: # 796197Post reincarnated »

Purely hypothetical situation here

We are successful this season and win the flag

Richmond want a complete clean out of anyone remotely aged and this includes Ben Cousins

Considering his return would you pick him up at the going rate? Whether it be third round trade etc etc

Reincarnated says yes and god yes at that. Watching him against the woods' today and he is clearly the best tiger on the park and probably the best maggie. A footballer's footballer who has come back from problems and certainly hasn't dropped off. Reincarnated believes he would add to our squad for a few years

You can never have too many good players in your squad regardless of age

Thoughts?

Thereby limiting one of our kids from getting some senior action, no thanks. I'd rather watch Jacky Steven go around.

He is top 5 on the park at the moment and attempts to get other players in the game with his running and handballing

Are you saying that the maggie's players all crap too? look granted the tiges' aren't showing much

He is not going to limit anything. Throughout the year we will have injuries and players will be drafted in. People in here have wet dreams over the kid however his time will come

How do you know we'll have injuries? We haven't had many this year.

We have had a great run of it this year granted however injuries do and will happen. Our blokes will be having shorter pre-seasons due to the length of our season and history suggests some players struggle early the next season with fitness. Reincarnated has great faith in the organisation to attempt to limit such instances however its a problem of footy. Its a baseless, arrogant questions to ask if Reincarnated would know if we will have injuries.

The answer is yes

In addition to this Ross the Boss gives his young players plenty of time to get used to the issues regarding the big time. He has even mentioned that he has a 4 year plan with youngens, so go figure.

Sorry, how is it baseless and how is it arrogant? I think it's a touch arrogant of you to proclaim that you can predict the health of our list next year and then have a go at me for questioning this.

Looking at history of gf teams and its well-noted that they struggle with the pre-season and early season fitness, thus relating to injuries. Spots will open up regardless and youngens will get games

To suggest that we will have an injury run like this (to date/touch wood) is a little far fetched. To systematically rest most of our best 18 is something Reincarnated doubts will happen again

We don't need him, don't want him, absolute waste of a spot on our list.

Why would we want to recruit a 33 year old! Our salary cap can be better managed.

Believe it or not, even if we win the premiership we will have to rebuild our list and we do this by promoting our talented youngsters who didn't get much game time this year, with our senior and hopefully premiership experienced players next year and so on so that premiership number 3 isn't 40+ years away.

Richmond recruited him to sell memberships, as we have seen he wasn't the difference between them making the finals this year after just missing out last year.

Richmond are in the mess they are in because they have sought the quick solution in recruiting, instead of good selective recruiting as we have done.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

No.

For exactly the same reasons Ross Lyon said no 12 months ago.

Winning a flag has no impact on those reasons IMO.

Gee, Cousins must have had a blinder...

9 kicks, 10 handballs, 3 marks, 0 tackles, 0 goals, 0 behinds. A whopping 56 DT points and a monstrous 51 SC points. Surely this Cousins you speak of is a must-have.

Wow, we need him and must take him immediately.

PMSL yet again at DH comments from reincarnated.

Kudos to the Saints for not taking that miserable little piece of monkey s***.

I changed channel then, but looked up the injury report and it didn't have him injured.

Yet another hammy?

With the right fitness advice, he'll play until he's 38.

Of course he could, about 7 games per year between hammy's.

And maybe he could bring his life coaches with him...well the one's that haven't OD'd anyway...

If you're expecting a 32 year old ex-drug addict with dodgey hammies to step into the team and help you win back-toback flags... then you're kidding yourselves.
