changes for next week?

Post: # 778680Post BackFromUSA »

CHANGE 1:

Out: Kosi (injured / suspended / out of form or whatever reason given)
In: Hudghton (if fit) or Luke Miles (if Hudghton is not fit)

With Zac Dawson to play Full Forward - and he has played their before ...

CHANGE 2:

Out: McEvoy (unlucky)
In: Gardiner (but ONLY if 100% fit, otherwise NO CHANGE)

CHANGE 3:

Out: Eddy (and I love the guy but he has to imporove his kicking)
In: Ball (but ONLY if he is 100% fit, otherwise NO CHANGE)

AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

Agree with the above, except I don't think that Miles will come in. I think it will be Gwilt if Kosi is out. One of the ruck men will be the other tall forward. They will rest them in the forward line instead of on the bench.

Missed the bit about Max (too many damn posts on this board today and skimming way too quickly...)

Max won't play. They will give him another week.

If Kosi is injured, Gwilt is the obvious replacement. He has played in the forward line all season and was going ok and was only dropped because too many other essential players were fit at the same time.

I don't think the Bulldogs are the team we would want to experiment against by using Dawson or Maguire up forward, or Gardiner permanently up forward (which never worked terribly well for the Eagles, so I don't know why we'd want to start now.

If Max is fit, I guess he'd come in for Eddy, with Dempster moving into the midfield on a full-time basis. I'm still not crazy about Max, Dawson and Blake all playing at the back, but it's probably ok at this point in the season.

If Max isn't fit, and assuming Ball isn't deemed to be ready, I would like to see Geary come in for Eddy.

I don't like to seem as if I have it in for the guy, but I don't reckon Eddy should be part of Ross's ongoing plans this season barring injury.

I think King should be the one to make room for MG- I thought he looked lazy yesterday and Big Mac out performed him- really frustrated me.

why? gwilt has 5 goals for the season, kosi has 35. one is a strong-marking key forward, the other hasn't shown that he is.

Surely we arent going to play Dawson or MG forward. We may not have many options and I actually dont think Goose should play but if it is out of those 3 to play forward i would rather Goose than either of ther other 2. if Kosi is out for what ever reason I would play Jimmy and also bring in bally for Eddy. As for max i really worry about our backline especially with Blake and Dawson as well as Max and we also now have Dempster and Raph. IMO at least one to many backs and even maybe 2 to many.

I thought our backline was looking pretty good for a Bulldoags match...maybe drop Ball back there is available, or BJ.

Still confused as to why we would play Goose at FF, considering he's spent 99% of his career down back.

I'm not sure about Dawson up forward, however against the dogs we do not need such a tall backline as we have played with for most of the year. They are the type of opponent where the farren rays, steven bakers and sam gilberts will have greater accountability for their opponents than the blakes and the dawsons.

Some kind of alteration to the current set-up (not line-up) will need to be made to account for this, but as we have probably the most versatile team in the league i think we can go in relatively unchanged, barring suspensions or the inclusion of MG.

Why not give Lynch a bit of a go?

He has been looking OK at the Scorps and is a fair dinkum forward?

Lance or James??

Lynch? I would have thought a specialist forward would have been closer to the mark. Otherwise, Big Mac has been a KP forward (although, 3 rucks in the game if Gardiner returns...hmmm) and so has Gwilt (whom I think will be too slow against the Doggies). I would like to think all 3 are ahead of Goose. Of course, Kosi is not guaranteed to be out.

Perhaps Goddard to FF? He's tall and mobile....can kick a goal....obviously would lose his run in midfield....but bring in another mid to cover like bally or armo?

He looked more petrified than Daniel Motlop in front of goal yesterday. Sprayed a couple gimmes.

Do you rob our bacline/midfield of a gun, to make an average KP forward?

definitely an option, but he's so valuable where he is at the moment.

his kicking let him down yesterday, but in general he's one of the best at the club.

He missed a couple of goals he normally would have kicked so therefore he looked more petrified than Daniel Motlop?

Fair dinkum.

If I commented that Brendon Goddard looked "petrified" lining up for goal, quite frankly, I would expect nothing less than to be mocked.

That is the biggest pile of steaming sh1t I think I've ever read.

Aren't there Bold and the Beautiful re-runs on or something? Anything!

You have absolutely no idea. Have you actually physically kicked a footy before?

If Kozi is out (not a given) Either give a Lynch a go or swing Goddard forward then bring in another mid/runner like Ball or Geary to cover BJ's role for a week.

Gardiner back for Bic Mac if fit.

I think he is a good chance to get back if he has another good week on the track.
