Reminiscent of Brisbane '04? Didn't Aussie Jones kick a point running in from the right forward pocket, only for someone else to then kick the sealing goal? :)

Yep kicked a (controversial) point and Troy Schwarze won it for us with a big roost from about 55 out

the Gilbert sidesteap WOAH he could get around anything with that.
I know people often say Bakes is the hardest player in our team... but I think Hayes has it all over him these days.

Blake was as solid as a rock copped some unfair frees against and gave away a handball but overall he shone was tough in defence

Loved the Big Gardy rucked all day and 4 goals loves a speccy fearless

Roo fearless

Lenny never ever doubt his courage

Gilbert hard at it lays hard tackles runs and dummies like a great rugby league player does has a lovely boot on him

CJ starred today on yablett

Gilbert and Hayes should be certainties for All-Australian at this stage. Both just sensational and never stop giving 100%.

Mmm, Lenny, Lenny, Lenny...... What a champ! And Sam Gilbert's best game of the year. There is something to be said for performing on the big stage.

Agree about Sam G & superstar Lenny but thought all the opening was orchestrated by Sam Fisher back to All Australian best, he had a blinder.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

2009 AA Players -
Sam Gilbert (BP)
Lenny Hayes (C)
Nick Dal Santo (I/C)
Leigh Montagna (W)
Brendon Goddard (HBF)
Nick Riewoldt (CHF)
with

Sam Fisher and Clinton Jones making the squad of 40

Both were sensational - Hayes'final quarter was reminiscent of an epic fianl quarter against Adelaide in 2004 round 4 at moron Park and Gilbert - F*** me, he was brilliant today. Stood up when it mattered most.

Brilliant from both of them and Gardi, as well. Man I love watching Gilbo play.
