Armitage breaks collar bone

Post: # 761910Post DWOODROW »

Armo played against box hill and hurt his shoulder . He had it strapped and came out to play the remainder of the game. Just got a text from him and he has a broken collar bone. Will be out for 4-6. Not a good year for him. :(

Armo certainly has bad luck with injuries.

Have no reason to doubt the vailidity of this information..poster does know Armo

My only doubnt would be 4-6 is very conservatie for a broken colarbone..would have thought season over.. (which it probably is for him at this stage anyway as far as seniors go now :-()

Wait for Hutchy on Footy Classified..he'll be all over it ..

It'll probably be an amputation when he reports it though.....

Shattering for him ... was IMO our best performed in the pre-season, and has shown some good form since coming back from injury in March/April.

Really unlucky, and it hurts our midfield depth ... he was next in line if there was an injury to one of our midfielders.

Poor kid, hopefully he recovers ok.

Bugger it!! f***!!

The injuries are slowly coming, spaced apart and slowly they come. To the area that we least need them - our midfield.

It's fair dinkum too I'd say - Armo was being strapped in the quarter time huddle, and looking back did seem in considerable pain in the last quarter.

Geary must keep plugging away now! Come on son!!

Who are our backup midfielders?

Who are our backup in-and-under midfielders?

Terrible news if the case!

I think Lenny did his collarbone in 2007 and only missed 4 - 6... am i right??

I guess this would make Jack Steven next in line...

colarbone is widely known as one of the quickest knitting bones in the human body (4-6 weeks)

very painfull for the first few weeks before it starts to knit though, as it can't be put in plaster and is at its worst in bed at night during the first 10 days or so

many resume playing after 4 weeks , most by 6!

the season has 12 weeks plus finals to go so I think your statement is well off beam M8, and any chance of a seniors berth would be mere conjecture at this stage, and in the lap of the footy gods I would think!!

Lenny missed three weeks with his collarbone injury which was a really quick recovery.

The most famous such injury to a Saints player was to Peter Everitt in the 1st Final of 1997. We all wish that had been a 3 weeker less one day. Alas, it was a 4-6 weeker. No GF.

FYI the original poster (DWOODROW) claims to be Armo's brother hence the recieving of a text. He is usually all over any news/posts regarding Armo so my guess is that he is either a stalker or he is legit.

I'd be highly skeptical of the validity of these claims, but if true, Steven with a few BOGs for Sandy in past weeks would be ahead of him anyway.

Heck, nearly everyone on our list is ahead of him, which is sad, considering the kid has more talent than most AFL standard footballers can dream of.

I just hope he doesn't rage quit and go for the fat paycheck at GC17.

I hope he is ok, and if he is hurt I wish him the best possible recovery. I hope he comes back with drive to succeed, and he returns better than ever. Good luck to the young fella.

If its a clean break he will only miss 4 at the most as he will get a pin in it.

Correct plugger ...sometimes a clean break is better for that reason...bad luck for the kid...but he'll be right after a month out.

Could this be a fake text message concocted inside the Treasury Department.
We should get the Federal Police to investigate.
