I hope everyone loves him again by now. 2nd game back, gets Fev,beats him. Can't ask for more.

Everyone already did...except one person who has a chip on his shoulder because he incorrectly believes Max cost Stan his job.

He said we were going to be proven wrong tonight.....not to sure we were.

exactly. He's gone all quiet about Max ever since he slotted seamlessly back into the side.

Fevola reminded me of a movie "Piddler under the Roof.

I was sitting in the pocket at the Coventry end , so it was a pleasure to see him towel up Fevola (yet again) up close.

Good one Max !

I never doubted him.
He was statistically the best FB in the comp last year.
He only had twenty-something goals kicked on him.

He is still our best key defender.
And a key to our premiership.

And it's good to see Max and Zac combining in our backline nicely.

Not sure Max 'towelled' Fevola up to be honest. Fevola kicked 2, should've been 3 and gave off two others. And if he'd kicked that last quarter goal they would've hit the front.

Max was good, no doubt, but he certainly didn't 'towell' Fevola up other than in the first quarter when we towelled the whole Carlton team up.

Maxie won the one-on-one contests at ground.

That low bullet pass from O'Halpin was impossible to stop over a short distance.
The other one Fisher got in the way.

So I would give the points to Max, but Fev did ok.

very happy with max - especially as i laughed at some enthusiastic carlton fans at work today and proclaimed fev would be lucky to kick two goals against max!

Kicked two and should have been just one as one was an Adrian Anderson goal.

I would have thought it was a stupid interchange goal.

He kicked one and was given a free kick and 50 for a interchange stuff up.

When Fev tapped it someone should've been on that guy... and then the tackle shoud've been laid.

I am definately not gloating but i did state if Max held Fev to less than 5 we would win.To hold him to 2 was saintsational but the most pleasing thing is the man delivered when it counted. To all those who had doubts I bet you sleep well tonight.I know I will :D

Loving seeing Max back in there and doing what he's done so well, for so long. 17 possies and 6 marks, to Fev's 9 and 3 and just 2 goals (one a gift from Luke Ball) says it all.
I just hope they give the jobs on most of the really tall guys to Zac, leaving Max for the more medium sized blokes. Maybe we'll get another year out of him that way.
