lenny hayes: how will he be remembered?
I am going to stick my neck out there and say i list him as on the same level as Harves. some will laugh, or say i'm an idiot but i am just sharing what i think.
He is so consistent, a great ball winner under packs, and uses it quite well.
If he goes on to get 250-300 games how will Lenny be remembered?

didn't say it would be the popular opinion, just that it is the way I regard him.Legendary wrote:You underestimate Harvey.
Lenny Hayes is on the Burke level ... but just that step below Harvs ...
does he ever play poorly? i can't think of many games where he isn't in our best 5

Truly a great present player but not Harves.
Game styles are different. Perhaps Lenny has a similar weakness to Harves, that is, missed goals at critical times. Effort from both players can be questioned but this often hasnt reflected directly on the scoreboard.
Good to see other midfielders stepping up in this regard.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

yeah +1 for a step below Harves, but still an absolute champ.
will be fondly remembered as an absolute gun by a majority of st kilda fans, but may be underrated in retirement in the context the whole competition.
in my opinion he is in the top handful of midfielders from the past decade, on a similar level to simon black.

Lenny is a dead set future Hall of Famer and depending on if and when we win a Premership and if he wins a Brownlow will determine if he becomes a legend of not.
Well in our top 20 players of all time, pretty close to top 10 IMHO

Ask the players and it is fairly obvious who is the most respected at the club now. Which because Max and bakes have been there longer and bally and del are competing with him in this respect speaks volumes. As to whether he will surpass Harves only time will tell. We will have to weigh up whether two brownlows are worth a premiership or more.
Are you gonna be the one?
