He was pretty good down back. Not one of the best, but did his role well like he does every week.

Except from that "surprise" from wankermanis.

Zac has been the big surprise to me I'm happy to admit...judged him too harshly at Hawthorn on the evidence available but has shown great character and has the ability to develop into a rock in our backline for years to come...

A bit of Bob Murray poise about the boy...

Never douted Gilbert would be a gun...was just a matter of when 8-)

Was calm and solid...linked well with the others in defence without making mistakes....was unlucky to be caught by Acker who was sweating on him from behind when the ump called play on....doing enough to keep his spot.
Thought Max would come straight back in but that is looking really doubtful now.

May get a measure of revenge, could Rocca be his next scalp?

Rocca would be a liability next week. He's not in great form and a bit slow.

Love the way he's applied himself and has grasped his chance and seems to be getting plenty of encouragement from the players and the coaches.

Sometimes appears to be moving at glacial speed but is obviously quicker than than appears. Would like to see him give off to the first option he sees more often. Great pick up by the Saints, plugged a hole in need.

Whether Zac gets replaced by Max or not.....we now know that Zac is capable of being our Full Back fo many years.

The pieces in the puzzle are all being put in place foa team capable of playing good footy for many years.

Just have to find that "third" forward now......and the young Lynch is looking very promising.

Would be fantastic for Zac to beat Rocca after what the media put him through.

And I think every game they refer to "that match"...

Time for Rocca to be Zacced.

I thought he was exceptional today, in our best 8 atleast.

I feel he has been overrated so far this season but IMO tonight was by far his best game, he was good defensively and had some confidence and swagger with the ball which was great to see, we could have another Gilbo/ Sam Fisher on our hands afterall

As for the Akermanis surprise, I am amazed it wasn't a 50m penalty, he was about two meters away from him...

Very solid again tonight.

Amazing turnaround from 2 or 3 years ago.

Full credit to the kid.

His disposal was pretty impressive tonight too. Sometimes he gets flat footed & looks slow as a result of it...if he works on this deficiency then he'll continue to improve.

Has done everything asked of him so far, IMO done enough to keep his spot in the team even when Maxy comes back.
His form will cause quite a few headaches for the selectors in future weeks.

Would love to see him get the chance on Rocca, if he plays this week!!!!

Will be interesting to see the outcome of John Anthony's 'heatbutt'...we might see Be Rocca back, hopefully the victim of a Zac Attack!

For me there were 2 things I really liked about Dawson's game against the doggies:

1) There was no straight up opponent for him, so he needed to strike the balance between running off and picking up a man (typically Minson when forward). He needed to take the recent build in confidence to run off his man to another level and be actively dangerous and an option.

He was, kudos to him.

2) Balancing the above, he needed to provide a strong defensive presence against a different kind of forward line.

He did, kudos to him.

He's made himself very difficult to leave out of the side, even for a fullback as accomplished as Max Hudghton. Given he played up front for Box hill last year, it's left me wondering whether he may keep his spot in some way shape or form even once Hudghton returns.

Both the experienced acquasitions of the off season have been fantastic pickups.
