Are all our problems in our heads?

Post: # 715460Post IluvHarvey »

After being at the game on Sat night, I came to the realisation that we are head cases. Before you jump down my throat let me explain. In the Third quarter when the game was going our way Schneider took a great mark running back with the play, it then ended with Mini kicking a great goal with a sensational turn. This i fully believe would not have happened in the first quarter when things were not going our way. I think we have a serious mental problem. I am happy to be proven wrong as this is just my opinion.

You only have to look at just about every game we play against Port in Adelaide...it's lost the second the guys get off the bus.

Confidence goes a long way to helping a team win a footy match - never underestimate it.

I think that is very hard to dispute, it has been this way for a long time now.

This is why I think it is so dangerous to constantly let teams get that far ahead of us.

Have to agree because we are the only team that ever gets jumped early and then comes back.

Nobody else in the League has it happen to them EVER (except for the Lions on Saturday night)

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Ross Lyon is looking for consistency this year.

Its not like class and ability fall into that category. Application does. It was a very similar opening to the Carlton game round 2 last year. We won by 40 points but Carlton kicked the first 4 goals from memory. The concern is where we get "off side" with our expectations. I'm not sure whether this is leadership or player makeup. Remember 2005 when Milney kicked 11 in Round 22 and at the time GT had considered dropping him for the first final because he felt he couldnt back up that effort. Ross Lyon last year stated last year after the Brisbane game we were soft.

The consistency seems a mental issue. When the planets align - eg Etihad Stadium & hard at the ball, we are brilliant. When they don't we look ordinary at best. Does Sat night score 2.5 quarters out of 4 for application ?

I would apply that rule to most posters on this site

Have to agree too
One thing I noticed is that Saturday's game, having all the attributes of the 2008 wobbly starts, come backs etc, was that we came back quicker and harder than what we had previously done, so the improvement on last year is evident and should continue.
No magic clicks just yet, give it a few more games and we'll be right

Last year we reacted after half time.

Ross has refined the gameplan and we now react after quarter time.

I didn't watch the game but it looked from the highlight/limited footage that i saw that we are where we were end of last season or just ahead of that. This is a really good sign and i think we could back it up this week as when i saw the game live round 21 last year after a slow start it was clear that we are way ahead of the crows. Not that much has changed since so Saints by 3 goalsd!!
