Moorabbin Saints JFL

Post: # 670806Post SENsei »

Does anyone have any involvement in the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League?

Could anyone give me a heads up as to the standard of play and the clubs involved?

My son's junior club is moving lock stock and barrel to the new competition and I know nothing about them.

Cheers.

Heh I probably played against you then.

Hampton-Caulfield maybe?

I played for the Mentone Tigers, and still do. U19s seconds ftw!

Chris Judd, Leigh Fisher, Fergus Watts, Chris Dawes, Ted Richards, Simon Buckley, Jason Blake, Ben Schwarze, Troy Schwarze and Matty Robbins are all products of the MSJFL among others.

Judd probably slightly more accomplished than the rest at this stage.

Does anyone know if Troy Schwarza coaches Sorrento in some league?

I swear to God their coach looked bloody similar...

Sorrento's coach is the actual Troy Schwarze I believe.

MSJFL is of a very high standard up to about u15 or u16 level. That is when school footy kicks in for many. The area has one of the highest populations of private school kids in Melb and school footy becomes compulsory from about that level !!

and also the Sandy Dragons have a policy of using the last dozen or so places on their lists for the best U17's they can get, giving htem 2 years in the U18 competition.
Given thaqt the Public Schoolboys are unavailable due to school footy commitments, they basicly take all those U17's straight out of the MSJFL Clubs.

Heh, thought so.

Thanks for the info guys.

MSJFL is a good league, it's shattering cos we lost to AJAX 3 times in the Granny.

But I got some great memories, we had some ripping games in 16s and 17s.

Were you in U/15s Div. 3 last season? Or U/16s?

I was U/14s Div. 3, please don't remind me of that Grand Final...
