I reckon Pies - with a good record against teams in the bottom half of the eight and as an enigmatic team that needs to momentum to be a threat - threw that Freo game to make sure they avoided Geelong week one of the finals and to shore up what they thought would be a softer run through.

I propose that this Saturday night is the moment they are forced to pay for their cowardice.
