Could the Swans or Dogs??

Post: # 640662Post St. Luke »

What is the likelihood of either the Dogs or Swans hitting some form and beating the Cats in the Prelim??

It’d be interesting to see what outcome may result. Given the current form of the Cats neither of these teams are given a ghost of a chance (by anyone)…but hey…stranger things have happened.

Certainly the best outcome for us was at least getting a feel for the toughest team in the comp and setting the benchmark of where we needed to be to compete with the best.

I gathered some past stats. None of them look promising for either the Swans or the Dogs. In the comparison the Dogs look better than the Swans, with the Swans matching up as the better team to face the Cats. Doh!

SWANS
2008 Round 20 ANZ Stadium Geelong (133) Swans (94)
2008 Round 5 Skilled Stadium Geelong (114) Swans (72)
2007 Round 13 Skilled Stadium Geelong (87) Swans (69)
2006 Round 20 Skilled Stadium Geelong (90) Swans (63)

DOGS
2008 Round 16 Skilled Stadium Geelong (131) Dogs (70)
2007 Round 16 Telstra Dome Geelong (138) Dogs (63)
2007 Round 1 Telstra Dome Dogs (113) Geelong (93)
2006 Round 16 Telstra Dome Geelong (90) Dogs (89)

Head to Head – Swans & Dogs
2008 Round 18 Manuka Oval Dogs (113) Swans (97)
2008 Round 7 SCG Dogs (112) Swans (94)
2007 Round 9 Manuka Oval Swans (100) Dogs (57)
2006 Round 8 SCG Swans (116) Dogs (90)

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Swans are on an up, they're tough as teak and they've been there, done that. Dogs on the other hand are young, inexeperienced and rattled.

So Swans to play Cats in a prelim.

Of the remaining teams - believe me I'd like to see it differently - I think only the Swans can match Geelong physically.

We can beat Hawthorn - proof is in the pudding - and we're long overdue for a good performance against the Filth.

Maybe Swans/Saints in a decider?

Funnier things have happened.

if the swans were fit - then it could be possible.
but there are banged up and held together with sticky tape this year
just ask kenelley's ac joint .

they will beat the dogs . . . . . which doesnt say much for the way the dogs are travelling at the minute.

swans vs geelong
saints vs hawks

I reckon both the Dogs Swans have as much chance as we had against the Cats last week.

I think you're right. If they play their A grade shut down game they might have a chance.

Would like to think they could beat the Cats but after seeing what they did to us it's not going to happen.
