The AFL never mention MCC Visitor ticket sales I don't believe, plus all the walk up MCC members.....so I assume the MCC are expecting a fair turnout in the reserve (capacity 23,000), plus a decent wack of ticket sales to the public between now and Sunday...

That crowd wouldn't suprise me at all.

We average 77,000 per finals match, as i've said before.

84,000, considering the circumstances, could almost be considered an understatement.

Can anyone give me a tip on what time I should get to the MCG carpark to ensure a park ?

I see they open very early. I was going to arrive about 12.30.
Is there any chance of not getting a park around that time ?

Thanks Sam.
I take it you say 12.30 would be still fine to get a park ?

I haven't driven to too many games there with 84000 plus crowd.

I need to pick some one up in Coburg at 12.15 and would hate to be looking for a park 5klms from the ground at bounce down.

don't park there-
go swan st and park in the carparks near tennis centre
- a short walk over the bridges and you don't have to wait to leave after the game-- After you've found your car

We park near the shrine.

Takes about 15 minutes to walk over.

Suggest arriving there about 12ish.

being fathers day maybe busy around that area too.

i_luv_nick_riewoldt, if you haven't been in a crowd that size before you are in for a treat and especially finals.

Went in 97 and the atmosphere was awsome.

Been to a Carl & Coll GF and even as a Neautral person, it was amazing.

Have a great time and enjoy.

IF It is to be it is up to me.

You still owe me for your ticket though.

current ticket sales
Just the ticket for finals fever
Nick Sheridan | September 6, 2008

TOMORROW'S qualifying final between Geelong and St Kilda is expected to draw more than 70,000 people, an MCC spokesman said yesterday.

With 56,800 tickets sold as of yesterday, MCC spokesman Shane Brown said the club expected between 10,000 and 15,000 more people to turn out for the MCG clash.

Ticket sales for today's elimination final between Adelaide and Collingwood at AAMI Stadium have been strong, with 36,155 tickets sold by yesterday, while sales for tonight's elimination final between Sydney and North Melbourne are sluggish, with just 17,127 sold.

howlinwolf, you will not be getting from Coburg to the G in 15 minutes.

How long since you drove in the big smoke?

Thanks for the tip Bernard.
I have been asked to pick up my sister in law from East Coburg at around 12pm.
I wasn't too impressed to be honest.
I don't want to be driving around looking for a park that isn't there because she couldn't catch a tram down Nicholson St.

The whereis.com tells me 14 minutes to the G from East Coburg but I'm adding another 15 minutes.
I'm still curious to know what my chances are of parking around the MCG at 12.30pm ?
