That was a most enjoyable late afternoon and what an emphatic win, just what we needed going into the final sending one hell of a message to the others.
Yes Essendon were a very much weakened side, but we were like Geelong today, no mercy, just bury a side when they are down because percentage is just as important as winning.
The boys I believe decided at half time to go for it, and they were justly rewarded.
Better still, can you imagine the long faces in Adelaide right now thinking they had 4th spot sewn up. Hah! not even the Hand of Aker goal couldn't help them.
But more importantly, now that we have 4th spot, whatever happens over the last few weeks, the great Robert Harvey will finish his career on the MCG in a final, hopefully on the last day of September and on the winning side.
