One win away from a home final

Post: # 630448Post my les foote »

With Collingwood going down, one more win guarantees us sixth spot and a "home" final against Swans or Pies.

If Adelaide or North lose we finish fifth and still play Pies or Swans or Crows.

If Crows AND roos lose we finish fourth and play Cats.

I don't want to think about what will happen if we lose.

If every top side wins we could play the pies at the G on Sunday is my guess. That was what a lot wanted but they thought we would be 8th not 5th. I still think we will finish 6th and play Collingwood or Sydney.

One down two to go, but we are guaranteed 6th spot now if we win.

This means no interstate final for us, at all no matter how far we go.

If Bulldogs win, we will be 5th, which means we avoid Geelong until Grand Final, should we get that far.

A chance of a TD final too!!

If there are 4 finals in Melbourne the game that involves an Interstate side and NOT Collingwood will get the Dome..and that very well could be us v Adelaide or us v Sydney

If that happens we will be playing Sat night however, as they cant play 3 consecutive gamest the G..the TD will need to be Sat night to break it up

If we play Collingwood, would almost certainly be Sat night at the G. I can hear Channel 10 drooling from here

If Adelaide wins and North loses.

4 Adelaide 22 13 9 0 2021 1821 110.98 52
5 St Kilda 22 13 9 0 2059 1934 106.46 52
6 Sydney 22 12 9 1 2061 1860 110.81 50
7 Nth Melb 22 12 9 1 2099 2119 99.06 50
8 Collingwood 22 12 10 0 2261 2038 110.94 48

We could play in Adelaide in week 2.

IF we get collingwood I for one AM SICK of getting Colllingwood on the rebound only to bend over and allow Malthouse and that pack of a shyte side to overrun us - wesimply HAVE to stand up now...geezus weve lost twice to them already by small margins which is bad enough...SURELY the REAL St Kilda will finally come to play Collinwgood and actually apply some pressure????

if we play collingwood as the higher ranked team don't we get the dome as our home ground - or do all rules go out the window when the pies are involved (silly question)?

it will be at g if its Pies.

The "AFL economic rules" are enforced in that event.

No we should play it at the ground that holds the most.

Excellent :D Was out last night and was great to wake up to news of the pies' loss. The above scenarios are all fine by me. Each and every one has upside to it. Just gotta win.

if we lose to essendon we've really no business being in the finals. going on what i saw last week, we'll win and win well.

sure, they'll have something to play for in seeing off rama etc, but let's not forget that the stakes are high for us as well.

collingwood at the mcg would be a great challenge and a chance to atone for two miserable and depressing performances against them this year.

if it happens i hope we tear them a new one.

mcg, collingwood, finals, the harvey factor ... they don't come much bigger.

I reckon it's fair to say this years finals will be a bit like a Jayson Daniels kick - it could go anywhere, sometimes you cringe watching but you have faith it will go the right way!

Well at least it shows that we have the most altruistic supporters - happy to throw away the home advantage in a final just to allow an extra 40,000 maniacal pie fans to inspire their team and influence the umps!

All i can say is please scream your loudest those lucky enough to get there!
