Mike Sheahan- 8 Set in Stone- Round 9

Post: # 627250Post dcstkfc »

Always a big risk so early in the season, and we've now squeezed out Brisbane from his predicted 8 at that stage.

To be fair, Sheehan acknowledged a couple of weeks later that he jumped the gun on that one. But he really does need to learn not to be so reactive game-to-game.

Sheehan went WAY too early with that, I thought at the time. What was he thinking? Probably struggling for some copy.

Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney were always going to drop in the second half of the season, they had a very easy start and have started playing the good sides since the break...

I'd have picked Brisbane to make it instead of us at that point as well.

We looked awful.

Brisbane have a big few years coming up, but they must hold onto JB.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

His in depth analysis on us at that time was "How can a team that has won four out of nine, expect to win eight of their last thirteen?"

Did it with a week to spare. Thanks for that analysis Mike.

I'm not so sure anymore on that last point.

Their young players have been quite disappointing this year, and their incapacity to run out games is a major concern. If it happens once, twice, then it's bad enough. But they've shown a propensity to stop playing at 3/4 time far too often this year. It will never happen, but I think it's time for Leigh Matthews to start facing some scrutiny. His coaching is not what it used to be.

And yes, keeping Brown goes without saying.

really disagree with that one, i dont see brisbane as a threat to anything in the next few years

their kids are pretty ordinary or have fallen off the bandwagon as black and power continue to maintain big roles, not even against poor sides when the game is dead and victory is assured they still paly front and center

not a young kid to be seen...
