Unfortunately the guy he should be dirty on is Kosi because he delivered the hospital handpass when Kosi should have taken the shot at goal. He kicked one in the third qtr only about 5 metres closer.

Yes, that equates to 2.25 goals per game (his career av is just over 2). How many small forwards in the comp are ahead of him? !!

Didn't the club say it was a fracture, 1 week? I saw that posted here...not a loss we need coming up against the Crows.

Yep, and one week for a fractured cheek bone might be a bit optimistic too.

According to Channel Ten, he's having to be driven back from Perth and will miss this week.
Have to give it to him for courage, and when he ran out onto the ground after half time he looked like a punch drunk boxer wanting to go an extra round.

Said on Channel 9 news that they have to wait until later in the week for the swelling to go down, to determine if he will need surgery or not.

If he doesn't play, will this be the first time he's ever missed a game through injury while on our list?

This is pretty important.

If he has surgery, that is season you'd think?

Fingers crossed we can get him through for the remainder!

Shyte you may be right.

Dunno if Milne was playing against the Crows we'd win or not, but against Essendon he'd have a ball.

The way his face looked I was amazed the Saints medics were saying it was just a birst blood vessel. Perhaps they were just telling porky pies!

Saints' Milne to drive across Nullarbor
August 18, 2008 - 6:58PM

St Kilda forward Stephen Milne has begun a cross-country road trip as he recovers from a fractured cheekbone suffered in Sunday's AFL win over Fremantle.

When his teammates on Tuesday begin their preparation for Sunday's vital game against Adelaide, Milne will be driving across the Nullarbor Plain after being ordered not to fly home from Perth.

Milne spent Sunday night in Perth after the Saints' win at Subiaco Oval, after he was diagnosed with a small crack in his right cheekbone, which he suffered in a collision with Docker Antoni Grover.

Milne and a St Kilda official began driving home and are expected to arrive at the club on Wednesday.

"With that sort of injury he was told not to fly, so he'll be assessed by our doctors when he gets back," a club spokesman said.

Milne bravely played on after the first-quarter clash, but is unlikely to play in round 21, where the eighth-placed Saints take on the fifth-placed Crows.

This would've been a perfect opportunity for a Lindsay Fox to chip in 20K and charter a plane to fly very low alititude back to Melbourne, so Milney could've been home late today or early tomorrow, which would've given him faster access to medical treatment in Melbourne, and a chance of playing on Sunday perhaps?

Anyway, he's in the car - let's hope those coppers let him get back nice and fast!

Feel for Milney and am very worried about him getting back for finals, but LOVE THIS.

He puts his body on the line, gets smashed, comes back on, plays with a broken face, kicks goals, helps us turn the game - and for his efforts, won't be back in Melbourne until WEDNESDAY.

Expect a big fat St Kilda reception Stevie - you've bloody earnt it!

#44 is a Saint through and through - no one can doubt this now.

Onya Stevie!!!!

Leigh Montagna on 3AW also revealed tha Milney also has a small fracture in the other cheek that he copped v West Coast.

So we now know that he played almost 3/4 of footy with 2 fractured cheekbones. Now that's TOUGH. It also speaks volumes of what the guy is prepared to do for the club and his mates. WELL DONE MILNEY !!
