Nothing by Harvs! - Inside football.

Post: # 622849Post esaint66 »

Nathan Burke has wrote an article on the great man Robert Harvey and how he opperates off the field and in and around the club and on the training track, its an absoloutly great read with a few good laughs along the way.

http://www.insidefootballonline.com/burke.html

THE scene is a typical Aussie barbecue attended by footballers and their families.
Plates are piled full of food; I glance at the plate next to me and it is full of greenery and a piece of chicken devoid of skin.
After lunch the Cadbury Roses appear and get shuffled around the table. With each pass of the box a couple of chockies disappear.
When it gets to the person on my left it doesn’t stop and none disappear.
Same thing occurs when the pav’ makes its way around the table. Nothing is said, no judgment is made, it’s nothing unusual.
It’s just Robert Harvey being Robert Harvey.
We had long ago given up the “C’mon Harvs, one bloody chocolate won’t kill yaâ€

Saint Edward, i cannot thank you enough for posting that article link.

Of all the endearing articles i've read lately about Harvey, this one is quite simply, a step above.

Truly gives a more personal insight into the professionalism and dedication of the champion Harvey.

You couldn't ask for better blokes than Harvs & Burke. The article also embodies another great St Kilda virtue of Mateship.

A MUST READ article.

Hopefully some of Harv's endless pursuit of perfection and improvement has made an impression on other current St Kilda players.

GO HARVEY! GO HARVEY!

I just know that after tthe final siren sounds in Round 22 I am going to be balling my eyes out in the crowd (I've already warned my wife in case she gets embarressed).....

We head North on a Queensland holiday the next day for 2 weeks.... unfortunately it seems a safe bet our Saints won't be alive come Prelim final time.... so I just know it will be the last time I get to see the Great Man leaving the field of battle..... how depressing :( :( :(
