The White Nightie

Post: # 619383Post saint patrick »

Must come up with something better than this insipid, weak looking jumper for next year... :x

As soon as the boys ran out in it my heart sank...

Really determined to engage the club in discussion over the off season and put some proposals of some of the fantastic clash designs we have seen here....

Thought the heritage/candy cane one was brilliant but the white nightie has to go the way of the yellow peril....

In a word Sheisenhousen

Totally agree, and in fact I believe we are contractually able to piss that disgusting basketball esq peice of trash off at the end of this year. It makes us look like complete and utter fools. Almost as bad as Melbourne's.

Would be nice if it was the worst thing to worry about.

Anyway, St.Kilda GET RID OF IT!

Unfortunately, you can almost be gaurenteed they will come up with something almost as bad.

I thought it was a very appropriate jumper to wear considering we put up the white flag early in the 1st quarter.

The thought that Banger MAY play his last game in it does not appeal to me

Agreed, put it back on the Target remainder rack where it belongs.

It's one thing to lose after being so ordinary, but to be ashamed of the jumper the team plays in is too galling.

Every time I see them at the merch tent I want to grab them all and start a bonfire on the bourke street bridge.
It's definitely gone at the end of the year, I can guarantee that much. As for what will replace it, I've heard whispers but nothing concrete. All will be revealed in time.

Please elaborate, A rumour that has been going around is the traditional TRI jumper with a white back, I hope not as IMO that would look terrible...

It'd be worth the club bending the rules, and paying the fine to get Harvs out in his last game in club colours! Even the monkey yellow vomit outfit was better looking, and that's saying something.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Very 1950's...I like it!

agreed. Probably the best "alternative" jumper we have ever worn.

I always preferred the big shield...made us look like a bunch of crusaders. From memory, it was more of an 'away' strip than a 'clash' strip, as it had a black back too.

are you refering to the one we wore in the grand final of 97?

If so definitely a good jumper.

Id love to see it return but unfortunatly the AFL (read Collingwood  ) have decided it clashes too much with their strip.

I would love to see the "cruisader design in white, the version that has appeared on this site in the past has been pure gold

Yes, we wore it throughout the late '90s from memory...must be a good omen!

My main objection to the white nightie is the white dominance which makes it look insipid, washed out ,weak and like all the other clubs clash jumpers. Why can't we use predoninantly red or Black background[like the training jumpers which look superb!] as required to avoid a clash.Red against Collingwood/Black against the swans etc

Sick of seeing the boys look like white maggots fairys FFS :x

Sure the players would feel the same way...as for Harves wearing it in his last H&A game....WE MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN

I am going to attempt to talk to someone like Burkey or Westaway about this and I urge everyone to either ring or email the club to make our feelings known..

Harves photos must not be devalued this way :x

I agree Patrick.

I,m also ringing the club tommorrow re this jumper being used for Harveys last home and away game.

Just not a fitting way for the man to seen on this special day.

The Faded Apron does nothing for me.

Home - three stripes.

Away/Clash - the heritage one.

Why doesn't the club understand this?

I went to the game on Saturday with a Richmond supporting mate.

First words out of his mouth after they ran out was "What's with the f***ing Bonds underwear"

New it was going to be a long night

I reckon that a predominantly red jumper would look fantastic.
