North game for the 8

Post: # 592500Post saintluke »

With the bombers wining today, we have a chance to place ourselves in the 8 with a win over North next weekend. Carlton follow and give us a chance to then put some distance between the top and bottom 8.

What are our chances of getting over the line at the GC? I'm still not to optimisitc :?

I heard someone mention that Ross had turned away from a finals focus? Are we now just running with the kids to see what can happen?

so I was just wondering is this one of those '8 point' games- as we are on same wins

or just a '6 point' game being as they are only half a win ahead :P

I don't feel that coach or team have given up on finals But realised that some re invigoration was needed.

To win next weekend we have to beat two bogeys with the one game..

* Win interstate

* Win a game we arent expected to

So far we havent even been competetive out of town and have been belted pretty much every time we've played a top side.

Huge huge test. Forget the maths, if we cant win this I really cant see us making finals, as we have 2 trips to Perth and at least 2 more games against Top 8 sides

what are our chances..?

i'd say they're the same as the chances of us kicking 15goals in a match

We rarely win interstate...

Our 6 wins have been at the dome...

Round 1.....StKilda 6-15-51 v Sydney 6-13-49
Round 2.....StKilda 19-11-125 v Carlton 12-13-85
Round 5.....StKilda 18-15-123 v Essendon 14-3-87
Round 7.....Richmond 16-11-107 v StKilda 17-8-110
Round 10...StKilda 19-15-129 v Melbourne 7-8-50
Round 12...StKilda 10-5-65 v Fremantle 8-9-57

We have scored 10 goals or less 4 times this season and have won twice....

The fact we are playing on the Gold Coast lessens our chances for win number 7 but these hoodoo's are there to be smashed......

Six debutants for the Saints so far in Season 2024. :D

The Roos are 2 different teams. Interstate they are worse than the saints. If the game was at the MCG the Roos would win (4 wins out of 4), away from there the saints are a chance.

BUt why the hell is this "eight pointer game" contested by 2 Melbourne teams not in Melbourne.

Yep... it may be an interstate game, but its no less interstate to the Roo's either.

Footy's a funny old game sometimes...

I think the last time we played and won on the Gold Coast was 1987 ???

We played, and lost, to the Bears again at Carrara in 88 and 89.
Only played them at Moorabbin in 90.
And by 91 they had moved to the Gabba.

they beat the cats at KP in round 2, then lost to us at Moorabbin.

Didn't play a home game until round 4.

I'd rate us about a $5 chance of winning this game.

The bookies will have us about $3, but the Kangaroos love these type of matches.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

The Roos win the games they shouldn't

They beat the Dogs and Hawks

They are favourties to beat us, that is why they wont
