Kosi's mark
Kosi took that 4th quarter mark in the goalsquare.
But the ump put him right round near the point post.
Kicked the goal.
But
I thought the rule was that if you marked in the square you took your shot from straight in front ?
I was sitting in L3 behind that goal and he definitely took it inside the square.
Please explain ?

Feet landed outside the square so that is the angle.Enrico_Misso wrote:Kosi took that 4th quarter mark in the goalsquare.

It was Matt Stevic who put him on the angle.redwhite&blackblood wrote:It is quiet simple all of the dodgy decisions against us were attributed to one man - Umpire Matthew "Dick" Head. Umpiregate we still remember.
He once said that he hated umpiring Sydney and St Kilda games and ranted on about the reasons: slow, clogged, etc.
He has had some shockers umpiring our games - both for and against.
I remember that. He said if I umpire either of those sides again he will deliberately pay bad decisions.SaintBot wrote:It was Matt Stevic who put him on the angle.redwhite&blackblood wrote:It is quiet simple all of the dodgy decisions against us were attributed to one man - Umpire Matthew "Dick" Head. plugger66 - funny I thought he took the mark mid air just out of the square and landed inside the square ... funny how 2 people can see things differently ... must be harder for the umpires without the benefit of replays
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

you got that right....in this weeks inside footy".the statesman' under the three things we learnt this week heading wrote that head is to st kilda what that pick goldspink was to the hawks...and that's not good.....
...but we all knew that anyway didn't we....the prick needs someone to make a house call on him.....
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

In the 1st qtr there were 2 terrible decisions that were so blatantly wrong. Each time I thought that it would be Head who made the decision & no prizes for guessing who it was.redwhite&blackblood wrote:It is quiet simple all of the dodgy decisions against us were attributed to one man - Umpire Matthew "Dick" Head. St Kilda's 2 premiership captains are Tassie born. The Doc & Roo.

don't ask such a tough question, it will take him a long time to find a smart assed remark to itBernard Shakey wrote:plugger66,
According to your ruling "Feet landed outside the square so that is the angle".
If a mark is taken behind the goal line, but your feet land in play, It is not a goal.
Would that be your ruling?

it was clearly a wrong decision and as someone else said thank heavens he kicked it anyway and it did not impact on the result.
once again kosi is on the end of a dud umpire decision and perhaps we should bring this up with the umpires.
thought kosi struggled a bit even though his two goals put him ahead of riewoldt for the year in the goal-kicking.
however i noticed that milne and schneider at various times were recipients of some nice crumbs and three or four goals from pack contests involving kosi.
it just adds another dimension to your forward line having a strong physical presence in it who can hold his place in a pack, imo.
importantly it encourages quick delivery in there, which is half the area in which we've been going wrong.
even though roo, kosi or ferguson were unable to capitalise on it, i was very heartened by both the number of times it came in AND the speed of delivery.

Dont know the rules. Go and read the rule book. What has this to do with the Kosi mark anyway. I think a foot landed outside the square you obviously dont think so. Well so be it then. Some on here agree with you some agree with me.Bernard Shakey wrote:plugger66 answer my question.
If the ball is marked behind the goal line, but the feet land in play, is it a goal or not?
