Having watched McEvoy run around in the twos I think he looks really, really good and offers much better value than King. Think Gardy is still ahead of him though but it is nice to see a young'un coming through.
Thrilled with the changes (mainly seeing Fiora dropped) although I think Leigh Fisher is a good footballer and is in our best 22 - just not in the role he's been assigned. Would like to see McEvoy Ferguson McQualter and Armitage on the bench. Gwilt runs past the ball too much. Gardy might have to play a game in the magoos although he's been better than King but not named as starting ruck. Geary a little disappointing last week but will come good. Out with the G's.

Well, better get some games in him before Collingwood unleashes their 14 year old! Did you guys read that? A scholarship to a 14 year old ruckman from West Sydney who's played 11 games...surely their talent scouts have spent too long in the Sydney sun???
Granted, it's only a scholarship, but how can any kid 'show something' after 11 games...if I play another 3 games, I might get the chance to show something too (other than my total lack of football skills)! Would anyone be surprised if St Kilda recruited a 37 year old who'd played 8 games of footy and has two stuffed knees???
Anyway, I digress...would be good to see Maccattack get a run on Sunday, but we've probably got enough talls this week and I don't expect we can throw a 1st gamer hard at the ball, like we must.

WAFL and SANFL would be streets ahead.
wouldn't be so sure about that. Haven't been to a VFL game for about four years, but I think the standard would at least be as good as if not better than WAFL or SANFL.
Clint Jones came from South Freo where he was a gun and has also made his mark in the VFL. Perhaps the comps are on a par with each other but seriously doubt that VFL is far from the country's second tier comp.

Agreed. The only thing more disappointing about the WAFL than the standards are the crowds (or lack thereof should I say)...

McIntosh was also overweight, overconfident and playing for a team that refuses to p(l)ay it's early draft picks. McEvoy is fit and firing. If King or Gardiner isn't able to go tomorrow, he'll come straight in. He's not being rushed at all. He's earned a chance when one arises.saintsRrising wrote:For those wanting to rush McEvoy also remember that McIntosh was drafted at No 9 in 2002...

Aren't Ben's main attributes height and mobility? Iv heard he moves across the ground reasonably well and being 200cm I cant see height being an issue. Probably his only problem is strength at this level.the only way big mac should get a game
is a replacment for king or gardy.
not becuase of lack of skill.
but because otherwise we will get thrashed from to much
hight and no mobility.
For those who have seen him in the VFL how does he go for leg speed?
