"get in Front..." ?

Post: # 569245Post saintbrat »

can someone explain to me why 'supporters' /'football watchers" yell this when
:- the opposition has the ball and is kicking forward-to their team mate?
why would we expect them to follow through IF the Saint( the other team) was in front- would they not change their mind and kick to someone/ somewhere else?

I can understand ' man up'/ 'stick to your man'/ stay closer- and thus Not give them space to get to far in front and thus provide the opportunity to spoil or slip in front - or have someone able to move in from the side,

just seems incongruous

You didn't say whether these "Get in Front" merchants were older type supporters,if they were then they are clinging to the old ways of the old days.

Much like an older woman after the game i heard saying,"why don't they just kick it long.....

The list changes for 2025 have begun, always an interesting time for an avid supporter.

All very well to "get in front" but at one point we did..when the Pies were running out of defence..and 3 times in a row it left the Pies players goalside and they just said "thanks" as they recived a kick weighted perfectly to float over the Saints players head and just took off towards goal.

As for the "kick it long " mantra...works when you have blokes running hard ahead of the footy to kick it to. We didnt, simple as that.
