Yep, ross told crictics (myself included) to get some perspective and it was mentioned that fraser might be in line for a mid season retirement due to an arthritic condition in his hand.

Fraser's "retirement" grab came from Channel 10's "how can we beat this up" sports writers and not RL I should hasten to add

Yeah sorry about that, should have said that in my first post.

I think we all know that RL or any other coach for that matter would say one of their players would retire mid season.

sportal links/ grabs

No guarantees for Gehrig 29/04/2008 05:14 PM
Saints a mini-final for Wallace 29/04/2008 04:23 PM
Ross Lyon discusses Fraser Gehrig 29/04/2008 03:56 PM

headlines show the questions asked- same old same old
by the look on Ross's face it's almost ' here we go again"

on a side note: Ross is looking more confident in his ability to handle any questions thrown his way with fact and a smile- maybe he still has journos confused because he does give' information' as apposed to cliches .
some have learnt to 'listen' to what he has to say and then take the information-
others continue to take anything he says and still put their own interpretation or headline on it
as saint66au said- the Fraser's future in doubt' came from journos not from Ross.or what he said

and absoluetley none of them picked up the Praise heaped on Lenny and BJ
in fact do the journos even realise that BJ is back?

just thinking some of the reason that supporters get jittery is because we are fed the 'oh no; danger; what if, he's this or that..."
and not enough of the good news- the reasons for continuing to hope and be pleased.

it's a pity that " GOOD news' isnt as newsworthy as " bad news'
