Armitage

Might sound funny with only 7 touches...but he played less than 1/2 the game....and involved himself in every contest while he was there it seemed.

Heard him described as our best recruit for five years and havent seen anything so far to argue against that.

Will.be.a.star imho

He's getting a lot of touches, but he's nowhere near as damaging as he was in 06 before the knee. Back then he was averaging 25 disposals, 8 contested and 5 clearances a game. Now he's averaging 25 disposals, 10 contested and 6.5 clearances. The bigest difference to me is that he's been handballing like crazy (21 last night) and his disposal efficiency has dropped from an excellent 83% to a an abysmal 64%.

Dal can't get it and Joey, Ball and Lenny can't use it. Our midfield is a big problem right now and Lenny is a big part of that problem IMO.

Arguably his efficiency has dropped due to our overall team performance. It's much easier to hit a target when your team mates are making space creating options.

Look at Geelong, they look like a team of millionaires at the moment but individually they're not leagues ahead of us - they're just working harder across the team.

ok his efficiency has dropped but blimey his efforts and gut busting attitude of work work work is still there, unlike some other players at the mo.

If Armitage is our best recruit in 5 years then we have wasted 5 years of recruiting.
Waste 5 years of recruiting and you have to wait 10 more years before thinking about premierships.

Stats mean nothing if your not being effective. I would have preferred he

got 20 and sacrificed his own game a little to put some blocks on to free

NDS a little who can actually be dangerous with his possessions.

Why do you think teams tag NDS and not Lenny.

are u saying NDS was tagged last night?
because 33 touches by a tagger is kinda amazing.

lenny and NDS are totally diff players, lenny busts his ass and works, NDS has the ability to be in the right spot and read the play very well and dispose of the footy skillfully.

i think if lenny coped a tag last night we would have been completely stuffed.

Armi is gonna be a very valuable contributor. My mate played with him at Brisbane's reserves and he said armitage always worked really hard and had a very good football brain.

They tag Dal Santo because he has only one speed.
He trots everywhere.
That makes it easy for a tagger to follow, and if there is a block easy to recover.
That makes it easy for his tagger to run off him when they have possession and easy to get back on to when there is a turnover.

Lenny runs hard to receive and if he doesn't get delivery runs to clear the space for someone else, taking his opponent with him.
Lenny puts in always.
Just look at his tackles every week.
