Main problem tonight was where Goddard was used. Goddard is great running off half back and his use of the ball is spot on, but he was played far too deep in defence tonight.

Motlop is a smart player and merely highlighted the fact that Goddard is not a key defender.

Goddard didn't have a great game but to be fair to our backline their rucks gave their mids heaps of first possessions and plenty of forward 50 entries without much pressure.

I'd like to see BJ play up the ground a bit more and put his foot skills to better use than just kicking out from full back.

well said!
no one moved for him at all and in the end that was half the catalyst for his poor kicking

I assume no one, but as I had to watch the super close close-ups on telly I've got no friggin idea!

Can someone who went to the game please let us blinded-by-lack-of-depth-TV-coverage know if our players presented a target at half forward when we were trying to clear it from defence?

no one wanted to work and run to the other side of the ground when bringing it out of defense there was no one to kick to, no one creating space for players to move into behind, nothing......all i saw was the footy going from one side of the defensive 50 across to the other side.

really not enough work rate.
