It will be riveting - going to bed at 10:30!

PS not a criticism of RS - rather like the fact that he is not a "poseur"

OMFG!!
I am so sick of everybody bringing up racism with the Riewoldt comments!!
Can somebody explain to me what was racist about it?
Just because the bloke was an aboriginal?, if he called him a d**khead would that have been racist?
IMO it is racist to assume that there was a racial undertone due to the content of the sledge, to me that suggests that the individual believes 'wife bashing' to be unique to aboriginals which clearly isn't the case...

'Charlie recruited himself!'

I wish they'd let him talk. That would have been an interesting story, but one of them (Sheehan, I think) cut Rossy off.

I just stated to someone else perfectionist- it's interesting to listen to a ross interview- he says so much and most of it now hiding behind cliches that commentators and journos actually are learning and leaning toward NOT interrupting- they seem to know they will get 'more' if they Butt out-

and wallsy piked it and didn't ask about Milney But Mike asked about the ' coment and who may have said it- ross stated it would appear to have been Nick- But Saints and Bombers have spoken and no one is taking it further.

When has racism been mentioned? I havent heard anyone say that.

Sheahan raised the spectre of the AFL acting in cases of Racial and Religious Sledging in relation to this particular case. Bothe Walls and Gerard made the point that the AFL had done nothing and therefore they obviously didn't see anything wrong with it in relation to their rules.

Nobody has actually come out and called Roo a racist, it is the fact that racism always comes up, on on the couch just then they referenced to the Headland incident of last year and said something along the lines of "and that didn't involve racial vilification", so he basically alluded to the comment being racially driven...

Another time where it was brought up was on before the game and it has been brought up a few times on talkback radio.

Sounds like typical media....trying to invent stories.

Wasn't Lovett convicted of wife bashing/or the like in any case?

Wasn't Montagna just stating a fact?

In any case, if the two are mates it's a complete non-issue......with good mates, it's hard to racist/offensive!

Sheehan was very clearly suggesting that was racially motivated. There's nothing in the footage to indicate anything even vaguely racial, but Mike's clearly got that impression anyway. It'd be interesting to know if Lovett had mentioned some of one of our players' bad press leading up to the incident. I'm also wondering whether Mike has forgotten Lovett's press clippings.

As i understand it, the following are relevant:-

Lovett has an 'intervention order' against him taken out by his wife.

Roo made the comment to him as he was obviously having a to-do with Montagna.

There was nothing racial about the comments made.
T
here was nothing disgustingly sezual like what Selwood was accused of saying to Headland.

It was either a question or a statement of fact (depends if the comment started with the words 'Is thst'?)

Not Montagna

and they allude to the racial or religious because they are the two issues that have clear cut actions and outlines
they aren't sure what to ' name' the type or content in the 'sledge' used- same as with the Headland case- hence they allude to those two issues.

It's abuse and hurtfull when it's deeemed so by the person being 'sledged'- Ie Headland-

It wasn't even Montagna who said it. It was Riewoldt.

And it was a damn good sledge. As i stated in an earltie thead good on Lovett and the EFC for not try to play the race card at all, or even wanting to go on with it.

Sledges in football happen all the time.

Sheahan was trying to get Lyon to answer regardig the Headcase/ Selwood crappola last year when Headcase used his daughters dignity to get off a double striking charge.

Sheahan was alluding to what was said being insulting language and that Riewoldt should be charged. Both alls and Healy said that the MRp hadn't even mentioned it.

Sheahan is a princess if he thinks that type of thing doesn't go on all the time.

FFS it isn't the bloody Indian crciket prima donna we are talking about here

On the couch is a bit like the 7:30 report with Kerrie (I apologise to the ignorant, 7:30 report is on ABC program where they look at for more than one minute of spin, though not much more and give a slightly ambiguous response). It would be nice if every interview spoke for itself. Gee, what an idealist I am! But, I dare say, the protagonists of the rich and greedy will soon respond.

Lip readers would also have noticed that Roo called him a "weak c...", which just about says it all.

Roo showed great leadership, which is exactly what I was saying.

It says it all about Lovett. He is a weak c....
