Geary

Post: # 552404Post markinUSA »

Hi

I was wondering what everyone thought of Geary as a player (I think he is pretty good) and if you think he will get a go again soon in the Seniors.

(The reason why I am asking is kinda selfish - he's in my Dream Team, and he was doing well... but hasn't been in the team for a while, and I wondered if I should look at changing him out of my team. When he was in the team, it was really good!)

might be a look in if gram continues to stuggle. Was reasonable for casey but needs to keep pushing for selection. Reasonably paced and smart footballer who has good skills. Long term option for the midfield.

I think he is a very good prospect for us to become a solid to good player...but not a star.

This year he is still learning his craft and will probably be in and out of the team dependant on injuries and form of others.

Presently he is competing with Bakes, L Fisher and Dempster for a slot in the backline....as well as other like Raph.

RL will probably also have an eye on our midfield too....and may plump for an extra mid there with Schneider and Armo (who has impressed)...which will in turn restict Geary's opportunities this year.

IMO Geary will be a 150+ gamer for us and will be solid, as for this year I can not see him playing more than 10 games, he should only come in if there is injury or if his form is exceptional, with Baker back he will struggle, however I would probably prefer him in the side than Jones...

I rate him
fast. smart. good kick. competitive spirit.

Has all the hallmarks of a long-term prospect. Cerainly one to persist with. Will be in and out of side in 08 depending on team balance and opposition etc. Certainly will be an automatic selection in 09 if he has a good pre-season.

I've really liked what I've seen so far. Only thing is I haven't seen him in a contested situation.

seemed to be rested in the last term along with Birss at Bendigo on Sunday. may be a sign? I would say the saints would take a couple extra accross with them though anyway.
