Tickets this week

Post: # 549259Post Mooksy »

I am an 11 game member. Can someone explain why getting a ticket last week was free but this week is not?

Depends on how you bought the tickets and where the seats are

If you let me know those details I can probably give you some sort of answer :-)

Surely this is a mistake. 11 game members should get in free to all home games. Is it because you are upgrading to a reserved seat?

There are a couple of ways you could be charged.

1. If you book at a Ticketmaster outlet rather than over the phone or online you will be charged a booking fee

2. If you buy a seat on Level 3 but in the front 6 rows on a Wing..you will be charged a Premium of approx $11.00

Plus obviously if you buy a seat on Levels 1 or 2

If you get a non-Premium seat on Level 3 and order it online or by phone (using your Membership barcode number dont forget) you should not be charged anything.

Hope this helps.

I will ring TD ticketing tomorrow and ask the question. You should not have been charged that fee as far as I can make out.

Welcome to the Moorabbin Wing by the way. Wander down to Rows D,E,F and make yourself known. Would be nice to meet you :-)

No booking fee when I booked online last week.

Not going to bother this week - will not be a sellout.

enrico - you will be required to go to a ticket office/ window at the ground and get a seat number with that membership

it's been advertised as all ticket affair so they will need to follow up on that

but by doing it at the ground you wont/ shouldn't get a booking fee- just a paper ticket to get you in.

Booked online again this week and was not charged anything including a fee. You need to make sure that you select the "afl/club member" option initially and then once you have put in your members card barcodes, you only need to chose where to pick up the tickets before you search for seats. Took me a while to work out that you dont have to put any numbers into the type of ticket required boxes as the barcodes automatically determine whether it is adult/concession/child ticket and how many you need. If you do select these boxes the system thinks you need extra non-member tickets and charge you.

well aren't fully ticketed games really stupid then?

so a member for nichts can reserve a seat, then not turn up and that seat will stay empty.

pity for all those members/cash at gate patrons who don't know it's fully ticketed due to the usual lack of media acknowledgement and are shafted to sit behind the goals when a thousand decent seats are vacant on the day!

Fully ticketed games are often an over-reaction, a deny thousands of people a decent view, thus detracting from the experience and making it less enjoyable/likely they'll come back if they're a bit fair-weathered.

IMO fully ticketed DOES negatively impact our bottom line.

Can someone help me out?

I'm taking my little brother to the footy this week as he is sadly a Bombers fan.

It's a ticketed match, so should I just get general admin tickets asap or will there still be decent tickets just rocking up on the night?

I just want to know as I might have mates coming along who haven't decided yet and it would be good to have seats next to each other.

Yes, fully ticketed games really suck. You can work the system though. Last week for the Geelong game could only get really stupid seats on the internet along side the big concrete blocks (the least desirable seats in the arena). Once there saw that there were plenty of better empty seats at quarter time (around 10,000 apparently) so I moved and saw the rest of the game in a much better position.

from member e-mail today
Reminder – This week is a Designated Seat Match
A reminder to all members that this week's game is a designated seat match. This means that all members excluding reserved seat holders will be required to have a designated seat ticket.

The Club is pleased to advise all members that Ticketmaster and Telstra Dome have waived all ticketing fees for online and phone transactions for members to access these designated non-premium seat tickets on level 3 prior to match day. This is subject to members securing tickets via the Ticketmaster Call Centre or the Ticketmaster website:

Um..
I bought my social club seat last week sometime..
I paid the booking fee though.
Was I not supposed to be charged, or does this waive of booking fees only apply to members getting level 3 tickets...

Put in barcodes... okay.

Select seat.... yeah level 3 will do me.

Then it selects full price for all tickets, and expects me to pay.

I just had this exact same issue! Tried it repeatedly till it charged me nothing, but no tickets emailed. Ticketmaster is saying I have purchased tickets though!

God I HATE ticketed games. The last ticketed game I went to that was a actual full sell out was us V brisbane 04. Joke.

Turns out that adding the barcodes automatically sets you to picking those tickets. Then when i put in the 2 adults and 1 concession that I was buying, it gave me the 3 free tickets plus 3 at full charge.

Got the email saying tickets were purchased, but no email with actual tickets yet.

Can't print from logging into the member account on the site either, in fact it doesn't even show it as an order transaction.
