Murphy and Morris have had a good year. I would say better than Kosi and Dal.

Leunberger must be because of lack of ruckmen. A it harsh on Murphy. If it wasnt for his injury he would be rated much higher. Has had a good year. Still plenty to be dropped off. I am more confused as to why Kosi, Dal and probably Gram are in and Chips missed out but I suppose you need to see how many of those types of players are in each squad.

Alright I'll have a go at the starting teams given this list....

ALL STAR line up

Ben Rutten Darren Glass Luke McPharlin
Peter Burgoyne Tadhg Kennelly Kane Cornes
Andrew McLeod Simon Black Adam Cooney
Shaun Burgoyne Nick Riewoldt Matthew Pavlich
Matthew Stokes Lance Franklin Cameron Mooney
Dean Cox Daniel Kerr Lenny Hayes

Int: Tyson Edwards Simon Goodwin Alan Didak Chad Cornes

VIC line up

Dustin Fletcher Matthew Scarlett Luke Hodge
Heath Shaw David Wirrpanda Darren Milburn
Gary Ablett Jimmy Bartel Adam Goodes
Paul Chapman Jonathan Brown Nigel Lappin
Matthew Lloyd Brendan Fevola Steve Johnson
David Hille Cameron Ling Chris Judd

Int: Nick Dal Santo Sam Mitchell Luke Power Brent Harvey

------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh well, that's a quick go from me - big question though....

Where are Brad Ottens, Bean Brogan and Brendan Lade in those squads - after Cox, surely the best three ruckmen in the AFL?

Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

Surely Montagna would have to be embarrassed everytime he walked past S.Fisher in the next few days. How he gets listed is beyond me

I am amazed at Sam Fisher's ommission however whether Montagna was picked or not has no effect on Fisher as a South Aussie, he would have played for the other mob anyway!!

Are you serious. Joey would be our most consistant midfielder for the past couple of seasons

Leungernbergerger is in the squad because by the time the game rolls around, so many of the squads will have "injuries" they'll be forced to pick blokes who've only played 13 games of football. 8-)

Stunned at Chippers omission. Lets hope opposition teams rate him as badly as State selectors obviously do

Fair point  ,may have overlooked that ,still shouldn't be there

To the others,Montagna is the biggest flat track bully out wide recieving sheep dog in the league,in which you need a couple don't get me wrong, however he just never produces when needed for mine. Brilliant kick who never kicks goals?

It took me a while to rate Montagna.....But the above post is just plain wrong.

Montagna is as consistent and as well rounded player as you could want.

how could Dally get in the squad when he's on the verge of exiting our best 22 at the moment?

The mind boggles.

Or perhaps he'll be OK playing for Victoria given he can play wide and soft as is his want at the moment.

Roo won't be able to believe what it's like to get quality delivery into the forward line repeatedly...............

He may even be able to stay in the forward half of the ground for the whole match, how novel will that be for him.......

8-)

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.

Jonesy, you must be getting different vision of our games up there in Darwin?
He is almost universally now accepted as a very good midfielder.
His season last year was nothing short of fantastic, almost earning him All Australian selection.

Only Roo and Hayes are a chance to get in their squad. There is some serious class in those line ups.

I see a issue in the All Star forward Line. Richo, Pav, Franklin and Roo. Seems a bit to top heavy, though the problem is they surely couldn't leave any one of those players out.

Got my tickets, so cannot wait for the match. hopefully 100k + crowd.

I dont think so i think so far this year montagna has been great and s. Fssher would be in all stars team and there are other people vieing for his position and he didnt get it.

But joey thoroughly deserves his spot.

Anyone feel like putting together the numbers on average player age? I wouldn't mind seeing that.
